appaling service

I put a redirect on one of my original websites 2 years ago and 1 & 1 promptly removed it completely, including the back up. I carried on paying my web hosting fee for all this time, not realising it had disappeared.

Good Service

I have recently hosted a website with 1 and 1. I did not find any satisfaction with go daddy. But this works out great for me. I got more storage capacity and good service too.

1and1

I first saw 1&1 in an old PC Magazine and promised good results, so I tried it. Not only was this an amazing decision, but the price/performance ratio is really good. It has great uptime and a really nice interface.

Poor customer service

It's not a good and reliable hosting company.. I've been a customer for more than 4 months.. the service is extremely poor.. I wont recommend it to anyone..

Pretty cool, not completely workable

I made a website using 1and1 and was having a good experience, but I found that I couldn't do everything that I needed to do. I have since moved to another domain site and have had a better experience there. 1and1 does have great prices though!

1 and 1 okay for starters

1 and 1 is okay for beginners but does not have much to offer. I used this company for about 2 months and left never plan to return. It has to many glitches and not really as professional as advertised.

Easy interface.

1and1 really makes it easy to make websites. My company has really benefited from their services. Their own customer service is quite excellent; their representatives really keep politeness in their agenda.

1and1

1and1 is where you can create your own website.

Pros: average of 6$ a year, 30 day free trail really helped me decide if i wanted to stay with them, you can make your own store, it was very easy for me to set up and use

Cons: they dont get back with questions quickly, hard to contact them

1and1: A common service with poor exectuion

1and1 offers a very common service, web hosting and secured email but the only problem is that their services seem to be down quite frequently and their web hosting service has a lot of competition from better running and more established companies such as GoDaddy.

Pretty happy with services

I have been pretty happy with their services. They are fairly easy to communicate with, though there is usually a delay in time.

Bad Service. Period.

One day out of the blue I noticed that all of my website (and customer websites) were offline. I tried to log into my account, but was unable. I then called tech support and they forwarded me over to billing, billing then forwarded me to the fraud department. I was told that my websites were taken offline because I was sending massive amounts of spam through them. I let them know that this was not me that was doing so, but that someone must have hacked my account. I asked them if they would send me a list of the affected files and I will gladly fix the issue. They did send me an email within a few hours with the affected files.

At that time, I fixed the said issues and my websites were then brought back online. Within a couple of business days I received an email from 1&1 stating that they will be terminated my account in 30 days of the email being sent because of the fraud.

That day, I found a new webhost who only charged me $12.00 (US) for an entire year, unlike 1&1 who charged me $5.00 (US) per month.

I moved over all of my websites the very next day and tried to change the DNS settings within the 1&1 control panel, but it gave me a generic error every single time. I was then forced to call their out-sourced technical support team. I have always had a horrible time with their technical support team because of the language barrier so I tried to never call them. They told me that I was doing something wrong and tried to walk me through step by step, since I have done this hundreds of times before they didnt teach me anything new. After letting them know that I was still getting the error, they attempted to do it for me and thats when they noticed the error themselves. The rep. told me that he would escalate this issue to another team that was only accessible via email so he would need to end the call to continue my support. Needless to say, it took them about 5 days to point my domains (5 days is the typical turnaround time for technical issues).
