Great clothing terrible customer service.

Yes I understand that young attractive employees are a,great way to help sell products, however, ehen these employers are so self ansorbed, or more interested in visiting with friends or flirting with the next cute thing to enter the store, it's incredibly difficult to get help. I personally think that the hiring process should be based on motivation and customer service skill. Not just looks and certain body types.

Nice clothes, but it does cost

the people there were nice, and I love the clothing, but it is a little pricier than some other companies, so I guess it depends on what you're looking for; for me, it was worth the extra.

Expensive


A&F is a really good brand. But the prices are too high, like the other shops I could buy 3 shirts instead of one shirt from here. The quality and comfort and the choices of dresses are amazing. I take my family to buy their clothing once a month. It's worth it!

A Common, Average, Trendy Store. To buy or not to buy?

My friends always have said that my whole closet is 99% Abercrombie. I have bought clothes from that store since age 9. However, from my experience, I have observed that the store's clothes have incredibly high prices for not that great quality clothing. The high prices are the result of the brand. Just the name Abercrombie, has caused the prices of the clothing to skyrocket. I have recently bought a knit top for $38 because all of my peers wore abercrombie sweaters. I like to be expecially cautious when I wear new, pretty, clothes but just in two days, the knit top started to fall apart.
The store like other stores have pro and cons. But unless the name: Abercrombie loses its value, customers will find themselves walking into the store and buying their clothing.

Abercrombie and Fitch

They have nice clothes. The only ptoblem is i could buy 5 shirts from Wal-Mart for the price of 1 shirt from Abercrombie. They have some very high prices and most people prefer not to pay for that. They make the most money when they have sales on things. They almost always have a sale but when they dont sales are low and there is a large demand. For people who have money for that though it would most likely be a 5 star. They strive to have nice clothes which means high prices and thats my only flaw i noticed was the high prices. Thank You.

OK clothing, not worth the money

I used to be a big A&F supporter--but I grew to quickly dislike them when I had numerous problems with their clothes (rips/excess strings, etc). Quality of clothes is not worth the price tag that you pay. There are much better brands out there for about the same price.

Great clothing and enjoyable atmosphere.

I always go to Abercrombie since I was 10 and ever since then I have always loved their brand. Unlike many brands, Abercrombie clothing has lasted be a long time. Never have I thrown away any of their clothing because of poor quality. Not to mention, the store it self is very nice. At times the dim lighting annoys me, but not a lot.

Thank you to have my size. I am 4:10inch and my daughter is 5. Only Abercromby and Le Chateau have XXS clothing with quality.

I don't like to wear child clothing. All others shops are for tall and big people.

HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE

I was beyond mad while trying to check out at your SouthPark Store located in Charlotte,NC. To begin with there was NO ONE to check any body out. The only person on the floor was some girl(Stacy) at the front of the store. I sent my son to the front to ask her to get someone to come to the register. She called on her microphone that she had on, only to hear it come back to all of us standing at the register. So whoever should of been wearing it left it up there at check out. So she preceded to call someone again(still cannot hear you, no one is wearing it). She then tells us that there is ONLY 2 people working and she cannot check no one out because she is not to leave her post at the front of the store, but she will run to the back to see if someone can come. A girl comes out to check us out FINALLY. She told us (now 5 to 6 people at check out) that the manager was unable to come out. So I asked her if what he was doing was MORE important than checking out customers, no answer, I ask again, is what he is doing more important than checking out customers, she replies, "well he is taking care of some things". So I ask AGAIN (3rd time) IS WHAT HE IS DOING MORE IMPORTANT THAN CHECKING OUT A PAYING CUSTOMER!! Now and only now does she finally answer no. Thank you,thank you for finally answering my question. I then ask her for a telephone number that I can get to call and complain,I want to express my concern and how unprofessional the whole experience was at this store. Now after all this time of waiting this non professional girl is going to ask me to WAIT while she now wants to check everyone else out and I am to wait longer. I TOLD HER NO!!!! I WILL NOT WAIT ANY LONGER GO GET ME A NUMBER TO CALL SOMEONE!!! To make matters worst as if it could get that way she returns with a card and on the card it is for employee to call and report other employees. Now I ask you WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH THIS NUMBER. I leave the store and go to the other Abercombie store for smaller boys and girls. On the way out I ask the girl at the front who is the manager today. She said "I think it is Patrick" I ask is it or not, she said I think so. Not finding what I want at the other store I return to the first store. Now Patrick is at the register and I ask him for a number to call because the one the girl gave me is for working for me.He then asked why and then I tell him I am not in the mood to go through all of this crap again. Just give me the number. Stacy shows up and I tell Patrick that she is not even sure who she is working for today. She then goes into this "I do too" she all but called me a LIAR and Patrick told her not to say any thing. Since when is it acceptable to back talk a customer!!! Upon leaving Stacy is acting so mature by rolling her eyes at me and turning up her nose. Your hiring process leaves a lot to be desired. Your managers need AWHOLE lot more training. You NEVER,NEVER,NEVER leave the floor with only one person on it and no one to check people out AND no one could get into a dressing room. I have not had such a horrible time trying to buy any thing at any store then I did at yours.Your sells to me may not be but a drop in your profits BUT I can tell you this my opinion will matter to people when I start to tell my story to my friends face to face and ON LINE. There is nothing more important than WORD OF MOUTH when you are working for the public. I work for the public and I know. I check people out everyday. I KNOW HOW TO TREAT SOMEONE WHO IS BUYING FROM MY COMPANY.

Cute yet expensive

Abercrombie and Fitch was one of my favorite stores growing up before I found stores like Forever 21 and H&M. I have to admit the clothes at Abercrombie and Fitch are pretty nice quality and cute however it can be extremely costly if you dont buy in the clearence section. Jeans cost around $100 a pair and for a college student thats just way too much. There expensive cost is really hurting them now because I recently read in an article that many Abercrombie and Fitch stores are closing down. In this economy not too many can afford the prices listed on their tags. I know I may sound negative but to me $40 for a cotten shirt seems rediculous. The pros would have to be nice quality jeans and well put together shirts. but the con would be the over pricing. The customer service is average they dont go above or beyond what they need to.

Overpriced!

I shopped at A&F in middle school when the clothes were "hip" and I wish someone had told me otherwise! The clothes are dated in that they are out of fashion in no time. Everything is grossly overpriced for the quality. I'm surprised people are still crazy about this store when there are much better clothes to be found elsewhere. Don't waste your money here!

Its okay

so its got cute clothes but it is really expensive. The clothes dont last long but the style is nice. The serivice is generally nice and pretty well dressed. They were willing to give me advice when i asked and knew the store very well.

Too dark to shop in

I generally do not shop at Abercrombie but recently went in as they have the pajama pants I really like.

It was so dark in the store I could barely see and the fragrance was so strong I could barely breathe. I have exercise induced asthma and I felt like I was going to have a worse asthma attack than when I go running. Nevertheless, they are still one of the only places to buy the sweatpants I like so I will continue to occasionally shop there.

Overpriced but good clothing

Abercrombie and Fitch is an upscale teen store but in my opinion the clothes are far too overpriced. Unlike their sister store hollister which is much more affordable, this store is for high school preps that use their parents hard earned money to show off at school.

LOVE HATE SITUATION

Fit for certain types of people.

I don't particularly like shopping at AF, mostly due to the strong cologne smell in the store, and the pictures of topless guys adorning the walls. Nothing really to say about the clothes, nothing spectacular.

The store setting is rather unnerving.

I don't consider myself a homosexual, so I do not feel too comfortable perusing a shop at which several shirtless men adorn the walls. While the customer service itself is acceptable, their shopping bags have figures reminiscent of ancient greek statue art on them as well, making it quite difficult to carry back in public.

Okay

I have never had a problem with Abercrombie and Fitch. Their clothes are a little on the expensive side though, and their sizes also run small. Overall, I love their style, and their jeans last forever.

Not my fit...

I dont get much of anywhere in this store. Most of the clothes are for smaller sizes.
Most don't fit me, so when at the mall I tend to avoid the store, but I can say that they have really cute clothes.

Not my style

They have a lot of nice clothes and a variety of accesories but they don't last long. I had a couple shirts that I bought but they started to form holes in 2 months.

Orders Cancelled without any reason or notice (false advertisement of clearance)

I have placed several online orders lately. they all were confirmed by A&F e-mail. Then, after waiting for a while, I checked the status and to my surprise discovered that my orders have been cancelled without any reason and (most frustrating) any notice to me. I immediately checked with my credit card (Amex) - they did issue temporary authorization immediately. then I called customer service and was told there is no reason indicated but cancellation were made by the Research department and promised to give me a reason within 5 to 7 business days (or I should e-mail). (same happened with my Hollister order(s)). I went to my local Abercrombie & Fitch store, bought a couple of things and talked to a manager about what happened to me. She (unofficially) told me that any cancellations done by the research dept. are due to their suspicion that customers buy for resale. She also mentioned that there is no formal procedure for appealing this, nor will I get any proof from Abercrombie and Fitch since it's simply an opinion. Moreover they can black list any customer without any proof for any future purchases. Often Abercrombie does mass cancellation compains using same reason (no surprise - it coincides with huge clearance). I was shocked: that is an unbelievable nonsense - their research dept should do a better research. Or what I believe really happened � a simple case of false advertisement - Abercrombie advertises a sale/clearance but does not really want people to take a full advantage of it. Since I have never resaled any of their clothing, I am going to fight - to submit a complaint to their state's Attorney General and Better Business Bureau - because regardless of what the resolution would be, I have already missed out on one of their biggest sale (which is their true goal I believe)and lost their (mailed to me) 20% coupon.

Smell

When I walk in my local mall, you can smell the cologne from the A&F store. The clothes are ok, but not really my style and kind of uncomfortable. I'm sure some people like it, but that's just not me.

Today i was shopping at your West County, Mo store with my granddaughter, we were looking for a new swimsuit for her, she had seen a couple on line but needed to try on in store for size. We located themand they were on sale clearly marked, but were too big on her in jr sizes. We moved next door to kids store # 20115 and located them hanging just outside of fitting room area on a door way shelf area.Sign on both shelves said 25% off. She feel in love with a cute orange stripe with a polka dot bow on back of bottoms. Off to the fitting room to try on she went. It took a few minutes for someone to come let her in, but all was good at that point in time.While waiting for her i was looking for a birthday gift for my other granddaughters birthday. She came out of fitting room to return first set to rack, due to being too small and get size up to try on. That time the associate gave her a dirty look and acted bothered to have to stop folding and let her in room again. I continued to shop and found four things to purchase.My granddaughter loved the swimsuit and we decided to get it, especially since it was on sale!!!!Before checking out my mother who was with us spotted a sale on jeans so my granddaughter headed to fitting room again , this time the girl working ignored her, so i asked the guy to please let her in to try on, he did! I must say that the two young guys working and the other girl working were all nice. anyway we headed to checkout with eight items between us. My mother checked out first, then i did, with the same girl who had been so rude with my granddaughter. She gave me my total, and i said , Did the swimsuit ring up that seems high, She said, its not on sale!!! I said it says right there under both the top section and the bottom section 25% off. She came out from counter, looked and disappeared into backroom. After a fwew minutes she returned , and said, we havent gotton around to taking signs down yet, but its not on sale!!!! I pointed out that it clearly said 25% off and had been signed that way the whole time we had been in there which was about a hour and twenty minutes!! And next door in the jr sizes they were on sale. She said well ours are'nt!!!! We didnt purchase the suit, we did purchase the other items for the Birthday gift, that did come up on sale.I have shopped with your company, through four of my own kids and never ever was treated like i was today.I have five granddaughters which all love your clothing, and all have many years to go to wear not only the kids sizes, but then the jrs too.I myself have worked retail for years in a management position and would have never told a customer it wasnt on sale or that we could'nt honor a sign clearly posted!!!!!! My granddaughter loves that suit,but this expierence has left me a little undecided if we will shop your company again.Here is the details if you need to follow up!! Please be aware that A&F online add for Ashley push-up bra is over the top. Since you seem oblivious to the damage you are doing to girls of this young age. Their curves are non-existant, you are attempting to make girls feel inadequate with their bodies.

As a mother of seven children 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who patronize your stores I feel it is time to boycott all your stores Abercrombie Kids, Gilly, Hicks and Hollister.

Greed is at the bottom of your product and the destruction of our innocent young.

Your under-aged models are most disturbing. Why can't you use models of an appropriate age?

I would also like to voice my concern about the new padded bikini tops for little girls. Not only is this disturbing and disgusting to pump up their little chest for them to feel sexy, but you are doing untold damage to their self esteem. They do not have a chest or cleavage yet because they are just children. This will also put them in danger of attracting pedophiles and predators. If you do not remove this appalling bikini line from your stores and website immediately, I will not be shopping in your stores, (A & F, Abercrombie Kids, Gilly Hicks or Hollister's).
Clean up your act and show some respect. You are adding to the possibility of teenage preganancy and suicide caused by peer pressure to conform to these standards.

My daughter bought clothing, paid cash, decided she didn't want it and tried to take it back 2 days later...Tags still attached, had the receipt, but the company wouldn't give her money back. Offered in-store credit instead, even though we have the receipt, the teenager behind the counter was rude and unhelpful. We have since gone clear to the District Manager with NO satisfaction and she was about as helpful as the teenager working the counter, no wonder the employees act the way they do...it's the way they are taught. Terrible service! We are going public about the poor service, Facebook, Twitter, whatever it takes, maybe that will get their attention. We've had zero success and it's been 3 weeks. We will NEVER buy anything from Abercrombie again!!
