Too few locations, support is lacking

I don't like that there aren't many branches. Eveything seems to be done through ATM. When you call support for questions, they act like you're bugging them. Bank of America is quick to take your money, but lack on service.

Bank of America

I was with Trade settlement and Derivatives Cash Reconciliation team, we deals in Interest rate swaps & credit default swaps.
It helped me to get a detailed knowledge of not only swaps but derivatives and other financial instruments too.
We also kept a close look on risk part of our day-to-day process. Like no trade is un-reconciled or left without any notes. It helped me a great deal in keeping all the minute things in consideration and attentive all the time.

I would not use them

I was a temporary employee at Bank of America for nine months in 2011. And I know I would not use them for the world. They bring in customer service temps from agencies, tell these temps what to say to customers one day, then turn around and tell them what to say to customers the next day. This constant changing feedback was very confusing for the customers. Also, for being "Bank of America" I could never understand why all the faxes that came in were directly sent to India, instead of here in the USA. India is also where the customer service center outside of our business hours routes to.
This is one corrupt bank, and that is just what I learned as a temp in the
Mortgage Dept

nobody gives a damn.Liars,cheats ,crooks,phonies,garbage collecters.

I settled a credit card bill in full in 2009.I was sent a 1099c stating they charged off $9000 in 2012.This is fraud and deception and violation of FDIC law.I have been on the phone for 1 week talking to 4 people.I am meeting with all the tv media today to expose there practices.

Ugh.

I hate this bank. They were one of the first to put in place many outrageous fees. Good luck if you overdraft, because even if you go over less than a dollar, you will be charged $35+. And for a bank named "Bank of America", it seems that none of their employees, be it in store or on the phone, are American. I have been with many banks, and BOA is not one that I like doing business with. I have since found a bank with NO fees and great customer service. Put your money elsewhere!

Terrible service

This bank gave us a home loan which we were forced to foreclose on 3 years ago. We are STILL receiving the invalid lona-related mail & harassing phone calls from them trying to either 'reinstate our credit' with them or "begin loan payments" on a loan we are no longer responsible for.

Bank of America

They're okay for general use I wouldn't recommend them for anything important like a home loan or something,Their interest rates are bananas.

OD account fees posted on checking account

After doing business with this bank for almost 7 years straight & keeping my accounts in good standing for 99.9% of the time, I was hit with an od fee, my apt complex attempted to re~submit the payment that had already come back, so BAM hit with another. Then, due to the 2 fees of $35 each, another transaction bounced in the amount of $5 b/c the $70 in fees took my account below $0. This in turned resulted in another $35 od fee. I have recently relocated in search of biological family & finances had already been slim due to the move & the time I was away from work. I just found out my bio~mom is stage 4 liver failure & won't make it much longer. My job had cut back my hours so that I would be able to spend what little time we might possibly have left together, together. As a result, my income has been cut in a major way so I have been EXTREMELY frugal with my money & only buy necessities. I haven't even had the gas to go visit my mom in the home she is currently residing in, until she passes. Anyway, without elaborating on this anymore, I will sum up what took place. I ended up closing my savings acc all together, & tried to get some of the fees reversed as a courtesy, via emails to customer service. (It is very hard for me to verbally talk about the whole deal with my mom as I cannot "keep it together" very long, so that is why I was sending emails.) I was told I needed to visit a local branch to discuss the account. Well, their lobby hours conflicted with my work schedule so it took a couple of weeks before I made it by a branch here locally. I walked in & the greeter at the door asked how she could help me. I told her I needed to speak with an account manager regarding my checking account. She said ok, follow me & walked me to her desk. I explained to her what had happened as she just stared at me with a blank look on her face. When she failed to respond, I said, so I guess I am going to have to request my account be closed. (The account was no longer od as I had taken care of that as soon as all the charges started coming in back to back.) She typed in something on her pc & stated, "ok, you can step over to one of the tellers & they can withdraw the $35.22 remaining funds that are in your account. I think _____ is open and there is nobody waiting in line." END OF STORY! Did not even blink an eye when I said close my account, did not ask if there was any way they could keep me as a customer, not thank you for your business, not even kiss my #*%.....NOTHING! I was very hurt that the "person" showed no compassion, was not apathetic, no feelings what so ever toward me or my situation. I was floored. Had I been "stronger" mentally, I would have asked for the branch manager but I wasn't, so I didn't. I regret it now but I'm not done. My next step is to contact their corporate office regarding such poor customer service & for them refusing to do any type of courtesy adjustment on a few od fees that a couple of them obviously were a result of previous od fees & my apartment re~submitting a payment that I accidentally made from the wrong bank account. GIVE ME A BREAK! I know that $140 or whatever it ended up costing me in fees means a hell of a lot more to me than it does to BoA....especially at this time. Don't know if this all made since as it is late & I get flustered just thinking about this financial institution, but I am sure you get the picture of what I have been through over the past month with BoA. PURE MISERY.

Dislike!

I had a credit card with them and I would always send my check in 2 weeks early and every time they would hold my check and put it through a week after it was due. I don't like that bank at all!

Stay away!

I have been a Bank of America customer for about 10-11 years now. I recently closed my checking and savings account with BofA about 5 months ago to switch over to USAA. Ever since I have been receiving letters in the mail claiming that my account is overdrawn and that they will be contacting a credit bureau if its not paid. I explained to them that I had closed my account, and withdrawn the balance about 5 months ago. They apologized and closed the claim. After all was said and done I received another letter stating that my account was still overdrawn and found out that they have still been charging maintenance fees to my account. Even after I closed it! Once again I contacted them, they apologized, and RECLOSED the account. Now just yesterday I received yet another letter stating my account is overdrawn....again due to them charging monthly fees ON A CLOSED ACCOUNT!

Someone help me! How do I stop this before my credit get ruined or I'm forced to pay some astronomical amount of money?

Everything was fine until I wanted to close my account. Now they wont let me leave. My advice...Unless you want to use them for ever stay away!

Clueless and Happy!

BofA continues it's downhill slide by refusing to address Customer concerns, train it's employees, or do anything to improve it's operations. Lip service, delays, run arounds and flat out lying are their standard operating procedures. Current Management and staff have take a once great bank and run it into the ground by focusing on the bottom line, not on the customers!

Too Many Fee

I had numerous problems when I had B of A. I was charged excessively for numerous things, and often had to replace cards for no apparent reason. Most of the customer servive people were not particularly friendly either.

How do I hate this bank? Let me count the ways ...

1. Their fees are attached to every molecule of your account. 2. Customer service is incapable of speaking English. 3. Customer service is incapable of giving you anything but a cut-and-paste answer. 4. Customer service is incapable. Period. 5. Constant bait and switch; sign up for a credit card, they raise the rates/fees and then try to sell you another credit card. 6. They offer a promotion where you get X dollars for doing A, B, and C. You do A, B, and C, and no reward shows up in your account. You call to ask them where it is, and they tell you that you're not eligible. You tell them you are, and it says so in the letter they sent you. Five phone calls later you still don't have your reward, so you kick it to a supervisor, who finally does the job three other people should have done before him. There are at least 20 other reasons to hate BOA. Maybe 30.

WHY THEY DESERVE A POOR RATING

THEY ARE RUDE AND WHEN YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT THEY DO NOT HELP THE CUSTOMERS SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND IF THERE IS A BILLING ERROR THEY DO NOT LOOK TO SEE WHY IT HAPPENS, THEY ALSO DO NOT SEND THE CUSTOMER THE CORRECT FORMS UPON REQUEST AND/OR IF AT ALL

Horrible Bank

Bank of America is all about how much money they can possible charge you in random fees you never knew existed. Find a local credit union or use USAA.

The worst Bank EVER!

The title says it all. Bank of America is by far the worse financial institution I have ever done business with. I would never recommend them to anyone I know or come in contact with.

If you want to be ripped off, lied to, and have your hard earned money stolen by this money hungry, greedy, bank... by all means... open an account!

Bank of America has proven to be one of the most difficult banks to work with. We transferred our business account to BOA and they have given us so much trouble with withdrawing. They claim to have no fees, however we pay an average of $125 a month in fees to withdraw our own money. Then they charge a counter deposit fee when we deposit at the counter and not the atm.
