Blockbuster Online DVD service may be on it's way out
Why do I say this? It is obvious that they are not replacing movies that get damaged (evident by movies in my queue moving from Available to Very High Demand to Availability Unknown).With their DVD inventory shrinking, not growing, it is bound to pass a point of being cost effective to run.
Now the reason why. Dish owns block buster now. Disk is not really interested in the DVD side. They want the rights to the movies so that they can STREAM those titles to customers. Streaming does not cost like mailing an actual DVD and then keeping track of what the customer does with it.
SO, bottom line. I think this trend is deliberate and calculated. They are stretching it out so as not to piss off too many people. They really hope that those that get DVDs by mail will switch to STREAMING.
I personally like the DVD. I can watch it on any number of DVD players in the house and I do NOT have to have my internet up and running AND connected to the TV that I want to watch the movie on!!!
The really OLD movies are not available to stream anyway. And now over half of the movies in my queue are "Availability Unknown" or "No Longer Available". Two-Thirds of those left in my queue are in Medium to Very High Demand. Out of 271 titles in my queue, 19 show "Available". Yes, 19!!!!
The only reason I still have Blockbuster Online is the fact that there about 20 in the "Medium to Very High Demand" queue that you just can't get any other way so I am hoping that some day, they will ship me some of them.

Been a member for over 8 years. Suddenly all new movies get marked as Very High Demand or High demand. I have 9 movies in queue and they are all newer movies listed as Very High Demand, High Demand, or Unavailable? I have not received a dvd since Dec 22, 2012. This is ridiculous. I may need to look into netflix soon.

Keep getting damaged blu ray disks lately. This service is really deteriorating fast. Web site is also ridiculously slow.

Used to be great now its just Aweful!
There was a time that Blockbuster was awesome. Of xourse it helped that there was a store in my city, but now that they have closed hundreds of store fronts, that is less and less likely! Now however, Blockbuster simply said, it terrible! The mail service is slow ( and I mean the Blockbuster part) and when I called a girl read a script to me! I called again, same script!Here is the full story. I went from Netflix to blockbuster to test things. Both had a Warehouse within an hour of my home. i tested the mail service to the blockbuster city and foudn that regular mail got to and from that location 95% of th etime over night..... OH but the plot thickens! Not my movies no no no ! When I called to complain I was told
a) we dont' work on Weekends
b) It was the MAIL NOT THEM
c) sometimes it takes a day or two to get the next in your Q out!
d) Do you have enough movies in your Q?
It was a joke. And it had steadily gotten worse not better!
Bottomline, unless you have a LOCAL blockbuster brick and Mortor store Dont waste your time. One of two things are very obvious
1) They are Throttling again to keep you from getting more movies than they want you to get....
2) They are back on the rocks yet again
One thing is certain, they do not live up to their promises

I have noticed that all new releases are labled "On Order" thereby only allowing customers to use the on demand feature. In addition when I tried to submit a comment or complaint through their website, the link doesn't work for submitting comments. I have decided to cancel my subscription but aren't sure what to replace it with because Netflix is not much better.

Blockbuster Online
Blockbuster Online just can't compete with Netflix. Yeah Blockbuster has all the new movies and tons of older ones, but so does Netflix, along with free streaming of most of my favorite tv shows for less then Blockbuster. Shop and compare first.

Very slow

I have been a customer of Blockbuster online and since Jan 2011 something has changed. I have the rent three at a time option with unlimited mail exchanges the problem is I am lucky to get one movie in the mail per week with more then ten movies in my queue. I used to get three movies a week just like clockwork but no more. I have input numerous complaints with the only offer being one month of free srevice but no resolution to better service. I am better off going Netflix and renting occationally from Redbox as even though Blockbuster says they get movies 28 days before other services they sure don't ship them to loyal customers anymore.
