Expensive!
My local Border's was closed but I shopped there for years and I always noticed it was very expensive. I worked at a store in the shopping center and visited often to buy a coffee from Seattle's Best, sometimes stopping in to check out new music or books. They do have a good selection, but I usually purchased elsewhere to spend less money. The employees were also very kind and I loved that they sold Seattle's Best coffee ;)dijon.... October 4th, 2012
I love borders
For some reason it seams as though borders find the most kind loving helping people to work for them.In other words there employees are as fantastic as their products!crazyredhead87.... July 5th, 2011
My Borders is great!
I enjoy shopping at my local Borders! They are very helpful and always willing to order something for me if they do not have it in store. They are patient with me and actually take time to make sure I am Satisfied with my purchase. :)orangecyn.... June 16th, 2011
Just another Bookstore
The borders stores are ok places, but who really needs a store anymore? The online site is a little clunky, but generally does what it should.anyavnclv.... April 7th, 2011
Horrible service
OK, I realize they are going out of business, at least in my area the stores area all closing... but if they have always provided the level of customer service I received when I last shopped there it should not be a surprise they are closing! Horrible service on every level! I even overheard a manager being rude to a customer over the phone. Just crappy service all the way around.Anonymous-25993.... April 3rd, 2011
If you are looking for audiobooks online store, avoid http://audiobooks.borders.com! They so called "customer care" is actually arrogant an ignorant bunch of idiots.
After I failed to buy several audio books (for territorial licensing reasons ), I asked them to cancel my user account. First they ignored me at all. Then they started to post me all over again the same nonsense requests to provide them with my personal access data. I sent them everything again and again.
Well - last week they wrote me my account was cancelled. Anyway - ten days later I did a try - and what a surprise: My borders.com account is still up and running.
So - simply avoid them. Don't buy anything from Borders!

I'm surprised we haven't been ordered to address managerial staff as Herr Kommandant. They cut hours and staff down to the very barest minimum but will not lift a finger to help out. They refuse to ring on registers or answer phones but they've gotten really good at hiding in their offices and shouting at us over their little radios: "SELL MORE PLUS PROGRAMS! WE'VE ONLY SOLD TWO TODAY! YOU TELL THOSE STUPID CUSTOMERS THAT WE'RE NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AND THEY NEED TO UPGRADE! YOU DON'T TELL THEM IT COSTS $20, YOU JUST CHARGE THEM FOR IT!!!" Think I'm kidding? No, I'm not. We knock ourselves out and it's never good enough, all we get in return is "You're not selling enough plus programs and if you don't start meeting your quota we'll give your hours to someone who can." It doesn't matter how long you've worked there, how much you know about books or how much the customers like you. If you're not pimping their stupid plus programs and their worthless e-readers, you will be belittled and reprimanded, usually on the sales floor for everyone to see and hear. it's like working for the schoolyard bully. lots of employees are stressed out to the point of being seriously sick, and they just don't care. they deserve to go out of business. as a former employee, I beg you all - don't shop there. let them die.
