bad report on my Lexus
I took my Lexus which has had only two owners, me and my Mother, to trade it in for a new car. When the salesperson came back with the Carfax report it erroneously indicated that the airbag had gone off. Consequently, the trade in offer was at least $3,000 lower than it should have been. The car has only been serviced at the dealership and has never been in a wreck. I sent them an email inquiry and got a "Help is on the way" response that the matter would be researched. No word from them after 24 hours, so I went on the live chat that is also supposed to be a "help" line. Forget it folks, if your report is bad you are not a priority to them. The live chat woman said she could not help because she isn't a researcher and that I would get another email in several days telling me they have "started" the research with no completion date. In the meantime I either loose the car I want or eat the three grand to get it. All because Carfax got it wrong and will not in a timely manner investigate and correct the report. As the consumer I have no idea where the inaccurate report was generated and I have no way to find out, therefore I have no recourse but to wait until Carfax gets back to me in their own good time. Carfax service is terrible!

CARFAX HAS COST ME TONS OF MONEY! I purchased a car back in 2009 I have my last payment left next month. Today I went in to get appraisal for the car and found out it has a salvaged title! The carfax I received when I purchased the car says NO LOSS OR DAMAGES, dealership gave me a carfax that shows their was a report done back in 2006 for it being totaled! This is such a rip off and I will be hiring a lawyer

Must use before buying a car!
I have always used Carfax and urge others to use Carfax before buying new vehicles. The vehicle history reports are always lengthy and very helpful for not getting scammed and purchasing a car that looks great but has a history of wrecks and repairs. I used the service to find a new car and make sure it actually was as good as it seemed to be. VERY recommended!

The Go to Place for buying used cars
If you want to buy a car but need to make sure that the owner is being truthful, then carfax is the place to go. Gives a great experience for buying used cars.

I love carfax
Numerous times I've been to dealerships who tried to sell me lemons I would've have been out of thousands now hadn't it been for carfax!
