Every time it rains and/ or gets windy,my phone and internet cuts off and on. Phone line crackles and goes dead. Because century link can't show up at a time when it's doing these things, they insist that my phone and internet are fine. They expect you to just ,"shut up and pay". I'm going find new service....

Why is everyone calling them CenturyLink? My internet service is so spotty and slow (and never gets better despite multiple phone calls to them), I now regularly refer to them as CenturyStink.

My internet top speed test is 1.6. Terrible! Least year, because it was so slow, they asked me if I would stay with them if they lowered my charges to $20 a month without obligation or contract. I said sure. 3 months ago they raised it to full price, but my speed didn't is just as slow. I just got off the phone with them, and they refuse to stay with their original promise of $20 a month. They totally went back on the price that they promised. I am so disappointed, I have been with this company for over 20 years. I have decided to get normal high speed with another company for less money than the snail pace of Century Link. Shame on them!

Century Link is the WORST! Do not use them. They lock you into a 3 year contract for Business accounts and will bill you $200 to get out. They use 3rd party vendors and you can not get straight answers. They never bundled my account and charged me $160 more a month compared to Cox. Stay away.

Centurylink, your link to nowhere!

I have been a CenturyLink user since they took over Sprint in Las Vegas.

For years, I have had all the problems listed in the previous posts.

I don't know what the problem is with this company, but if you like unreliable service with highly variable connection speeds then this company is for you!

Run fast, run, run, run, before it's too late!

Since Jan 23, 2013 the internet has slowed fricken bad. Movie won't play and hesitate. Fix this fricken internet. 3 days ago the speed came back and now running 4.38 and I'm on a 10mb plan this sucks. Fix this piece of junk internet.

Internet and service

THIS COMPANY IS AWFUL...all service is in MANILA! There is NO WAY TO GET A PHONE NUMBER! They LIE about the speed of internet. I feel like I am dealing with Qwest all over again...left them...leaving CenturyLink too!

ATT offers a wireless internet and LIVE PEOPLE IN THE USA answer the phone and actually HELP!

SUX

My mom uses this phone/internet service. She is paying or high speed internet nlimited long distance her bllis arnd 120 dollars amonth and she is lucky if sh even has an internet connection half the time and when she does it has trouble handling netflix

This is the worst ISP I've ever ever used in my life. Download speed is 3 Mbps instead of 10 Mbps. Upload speed is almost 0, yes I mean !!! ZERO !!!. From 6 p.m to 9 a.m the next day, it drops EVERY 10 min; and Ping is 30000 ms to D.C and >100000 ms to Europe. OMG !!!

Should close your company asap, thank you for wasting my time!

$200.00 Early Termination Fee

Signed up July 2012 for 20mps Internet service. Moved September 2012- CenturyLink cannot provide agreed upon 20mps service- instead offered 1.5mps.

Final bill included $200.00 "Early Termination Fee." Since CenturyLink cannot provide agreed upon service- contract is null and void, and customer should not pay because CenturyLink cannot provide service.

Do not move if you use CenturyLink- filing with the Federal Communications Commission.

Since CenturyLink has taken over our service from Qwest, the cost has gone up, the speed, stability, reliability, and satisfaction have all gone down. We can't count on our service not dropping out without reason. We are being charged for a DSL speed which is supposedly the same as when we were with Qwest, but runs about 1/3 to 1/2 slower on the same computer systems and modem. We are currently looking for another ISP and will switch when we find one.

Century link is the only provider in our area otherwise we wouldn't bother with them.. they have the worst internet service I have ever had the displeasure of using. inconsistent speeds (extreamly slow to even slower is the norm) daily interrupts in service, i.e completely turning off internet, and once a week it goes down for about a day. The Second there is another provider in our area, we are switching!.

Phone and internet

I hate this service, i'm parlyzed and everytime I called because of a problem.They had me do all kinds of work that one of their people should be doing.
This was not esay for me to do, and I diden't even get paid for doing their job. I should of went with cable, it cost a little more but its worth not having the headaches and the stress they put me though.

Century link Internet service

Internet can not be used at night sometimes, speed is much slower than what I supposively pay for, customer service not helpful just lies. All too expensive for the what you pay each month!

When I had Qwest, I had a steady download speed. Ever since Centurylink bought them out, I get 1/3 the speed that I pay for at night.

ongoing problems always 4-5 days to repair

Centurylink does not care about customers, my phone has been out for four days before the rain, I have been told three different times the day and time it would be fixed, They say too many outages to handle. Well HIRE some unemployed service techs. There is only one guy who handles this whole area.Supervisor just told my husband they can't fix until morning. They won't authorize any overtime.OMG! First DSL kept dropping, I called 2 times on the 25th with bad static on phone then DSL starting working , HMMM,strange, then no phone.

I just did a speedtest at speedtest.centurylink.net and got a 1.32mgps download which less then dialup speeds and i'm paying for highspeed internet lol... before the 22 billion dollar merger I always had 3.0 or higher...

CenturyLink SUCKS A BIG ONE! They have not been of any help what so ever! i CALLED TO GET INTERNET ON AND FINALLY AFTER A WEEK AND HAVING TO CALL BACK THREE DIFFERENT TIMES I AM FINALLY ABLE TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ON THE INTERNET HOW CRAPPY THEIR SERVICE IS! The internet cuts on and off every three min. Stopping the gameplay on my x-box when I asked if their service would be fast enough that it would keep up with a desktop, laptop and the X-box they assured me it would...OF COURSE! THEY LIED! I haven't had any help after staying on the phone with them for a total of 4 hours on hold over 3 calls back. DO NOT GET THEIR SERVICE IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT HAVING A GOOD INTERNET CONNECTION!

Billing Issue Ongoing for 3 Months

9/5 I talked to Melissa in Missouri, she took the time to take the extra steps ro resolve the ongoing billing issues that were suppose to be resolved 2 months ago.

She was very patient, courteous and new her job and took extra steps to service her client (me).

5 year bundle with no contract? Yeah, not! Great false advertising, they should be sued for those commercials, I moved cancelled my service and got an early termination fee lol.

This is the worst dsl tech support I have ever encountered. After my modem died I ordered their modem/router since they will not give any tech support unless they get to gouge you for a monthly modem rental fee. Long story short I was on the phone for 2/12 hours with 3 different techs, mostly on hold while each tried to figure out why my laptop would not connect. First I was told it was my antivirus program, then another tech said it was a problem with my computer's wireless adapter. I was advised first to call my antivirus program tech support, then to call HP tech support. I did neither as I was fairly certain neither was the issue, as this laptop was connected previously with no problems. I hired my own tech and literally two minutes after he turned on the computer he had it connected. Seems the Centurylink "tech support" neglected to have me change the old IP address.....seems elementary , if you're a so called tech. For an additional $35 for the tech's house call I am now connected to Centurylink's sucky service! One of the techs was minimally helpful, the second one was obviously bored with the situation and borderline rude. The third one really tried, but apparently it was over her head. Oh yes, when I broke down and ordered their modem, they sent two, a day apart.

I recently switched from a 3.0 service to 6.0, wanted 10 but 6 is the highest in my area. I called on Monday and it was to be turned on by Thursday, Thursday came and went and the only thing that happened is my account was unreachable for a couple hours. The speed went up maybe .5 but was slower than normal most of the time. I am currently on the phone with them and the lady sounds like a retard. And I was on the online chat last night and the lady was making it seem like I was mistaken. I outright told her that it wasn't working right and she eventually stopped talking and told me to call. Not even helpful at all.

They try to make you feel like because they're experiencing difficulties in some switch over they're doing you should bear with them. Even though you're still paying the same money for slower service, less reliable connections, all these changes so they can get more money... then when you try to cancel and they want MORE MONEY. Seeing a pattern here? I do! Never again... Septembers termination date can't get here fast enough. Darned if I do, and if I don't

I bought into there $14.95 Internet deal for 1yr.High speed RIGHT!for afew mo's it was ok than it seamed to run slower I complained and was told this was the speed I'v had acording to my contract this went on & on I than got there TV package I canceled after 2wk's next thing I know my phone & internet are disconected for 3 days,Im64yrs old with no car I had to walk to the corner 7/11to use a pay phone to report my problem it takes about 20 to 25 min. to reach 7/11 store my wife is 79 with HART trouble we need a phone they kept telling me they would have some one out there 3DAY'S LATER then I find they JOB OUT there work to other Co's. it took this guy 2 days toget everything turned pluss a new modem be cause mine wouldn't work any more im so hot last night was the kicker they SWHUT DOWN MY INTERNET WITH NO WARNING WHAT SO EVER ! aftergoing threw everything I could think of to get back on line I called them and asked what was going on OH there working on the server's and they will be down from 12AM-8AM I asked how come I didn't recive a notice about this his reply heck they dont even tell us when there going to shut down I was in the middle of something important to me and ended loseing every thing i was working on I AM REALLY HOT HOT HOT!!!I found out the FAST INTERNET SPEED I thought I was geting turnes out to be NEXT TO THE SLOWEST SPEED THEY HAVE. JUST HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL???
