Happened to me too
Like so many people here, I had a past due amount, and was treated like dirt. I am a single mother of young children. I am also a cancer patient. Every other company I called to arrange a payment arrangement was kind and helpful. (Mind you, I was not asking to get out of paying my bills- only that I be given some extra time.) Com Ed treated me so rudely, I sat with tears running down my face while they told me the payment had to be in "or else", and no, they would not take a partial payment.I called our church in tears, so much in fact that I could not even speak a sentence. The wonderful woman there assured me they could help me, and asked me to please ask com ed if they would accept the full payment on Monday morning (This was a Thursday, with the payment due Friday) She wanted time to reach out to the members of the church to help us.
I called com ed, and explained that the good people of our church were going to help pay the bill, and could we please pay it on Monday instead of Friday. I was stunned when I was told, "NO. You have to have the payment in tomorrow. No exceptions"
In the end, my dear pastor wrote a check to com ed from his own pocket to help us in our time of need. Com ed is the most heartless company I have ever dealt with. If I had a choice, I would leave them in a heartbeat.
My sympathies to everyone else who has dealt with them

Are there any human beings that work at Comed?
Let me start off by saying that I am not complaining that my service was disconnected due to a past due balance. I paid the amount in full one hour after is was disconnected. Its 11:00am, why cant you turn it on the same day? I explained the situation to a so called supervisior and I swear it felt like I was talki.g to a machine. Even after I told her that I have a baby with a fever and nowhere else to go,I couldnt get an answer that made any sense. Its not like they have to drive far .... They are literraly 10 minutes away. I think that the human factor has been thrown out the window with this company. With no other options I can see why. They have no real competition. So we become the captive audience.

LESS THAN HUMAN.ARE ANDROIDS WORKING THERE??
I wish I could Not answer my phone at work for 40 minutes. The lazy tone of the voice made me want to scream. Don't you know how long it took for you to pick up?? At least be pleasant when you decide to answer the phone. How does this company stll exist. The prices are crazy. I can't believe I held the phone that long>> They are not worth rating.

I feel outraged by the staff of comed,they are unprofessional, rude, ignorant and lasy.
Comed staff don't answer questions appropriately an when I ask to speak with a supervisor I am told that supervisors are on call and do not necessary answer my questions better than them. Why does ComEd have supervisors?
You are lasy people who don't deserve to have a job since you are not performing in your job.
After few months of contacting COMED, I am still waiting to hear from a supervisor.
My next step will be contacting the news paper and share my story.
As I am writing this note, I am also holding my phone as I wait for a comed representative to answer my call. I have been waiting for 45 minutes.
Help please.

The worse company ignorant employees, they shut off my power without proper notice. and took two days to turn it on again, everyone call the Illinois Attorney General and complain I started one with her office, they are supose to send a shut off notice registored mail.
