Dollar has the Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We recently rented a SUV on line,months before our holiday in Florida. After 16 hours of travelling, waiting in a hot Carpark was told the there were no cars that size left (they had given it away) and there was nothing big enough to get us and the luggage to the villa so it cost us 120 dollars by taxi to get to the villa. The next morning my husband drove back to the airport to pick the car we originally booked (costing another 120.00 dollars) to be told they still did nt have one so my husband was given a smaller car with the promise they wud contact us when a suv came in, as he was driving from the airport the air conditiner stopped working which made the car the car unrideable as it was 100 degrees outside with 95% humidity. We rang dollar to ask for road side assistance the advisor said they could not send anyone to help us but she would speak to the manager at dollar and put him through to me on the phone and would listen into theconversation
The manager was really didn't care, he made me feel like it was my fault (needed sacking on the spot) after lots of to-ing and fro-ing he told us try a local dollar company knowing they didnt have suvs there (another waste of time) the employer there said the manager would of known this. It was my birthday that day but I didn't manage to get out of the villa my poor husband did all the running around. On the Monday my husband drove back to the airport ( in the small car with broken air conditioning) to see if a bigger car had come in. My husband after an hour of waiting finally got the car we should of had three days before.
1,why was the car we rented over 6 weeks before on line, given away.
2, we were informed that there had been a problem with the cars for at least a couple of months but no-one told us when we were booking it or after.
3, why is it so difficult to get someone to take responsibility when an error is made.
4, why are all the employers allowed to be rude to the customers.

I hope the owner of dollar gets to see the reviews
There are hundreds of complaints about dollar on the Internet all saying the same things, he should be ashamed of himself for letting this carry on. I will tell everyone I know, how bad they are, if you dont believe me just read the reviews for yourself.

It's called stealing

Rented a car from Dollar Rent a car in Denver in May. Paid through Expedia. Upon return from the trip I find that I had been charged again from Dollar. Argued the charge and they refunded a portion of what they had charged me. In OCTOBER, Dollar rent a car charged me again. In OCTOBER! Dollar rent a car refuses to help. They won't even discuss the matter without transfering me to another customer service agent who "can better assist".

DO NOT USE DOLLAR steal a car.

Dollar scare tactic! Beware!

Two women walk-in to Dollar Express, not a good thing; we were immediately tagged as suckers.

After the spiel, a male staff member started to talk about car insurance, and that if we did not purchase the car insurance and if we incurred an accident that we would be charged $3,000.00.

Having little experience about car rental tactics my friend signed the paper work.

When we determined that we had been duped, we contacted customer service, we explained to her that we had been duped, and that the man that we talked to scared us into buying this add'l service. She looked at our agreement and she said "I DON'T CARE WHAT THE CONVERSATION WAS, YOU ACCEPTED IT".

Insurance Ripoff

I recently completed a vacation trip to Germany. I booked a rental car through Dollar rent a car by using Orbitz. I also purchased the full coverage insurance through Orbitz. The price for the 2 week rental through Dollar was very good but only about $10.00 less than the competition. Upon arriving at Frankfurt Airport I made my way to the airport rental area only to discover that Dollar rental was located in the other terminal, (NO signs or indication of this). Keep in mind I was carrying/dragging about 100lbs of Luggage etc at this time. I made my way to the other terminal and approached the Dollar rental counter. The lady behind the desk was finishing up with another customer. She looked up and asked if she could help me. I started to speak and she rudely held up her hand and said "wait a minute, can't you see I'm busy". This was the beginning of the worst customer service I have ever received. When she was finally ready I began to explain that I was there to pick up my vehicle, she immediatly interupted me and asked If I had read the rental agreement. I replied and she said "then you know you must purchase your insurance through dollar rental". I then replied that I had already purchased it through Orbitz. Her response was, "Thats not my problem, you need to get a refund". After arguing with her I found out the cost of the insurance was almost double the cost of the rental. Her reaponse was that my rental was so cheap I shouldn't be complaining about the insurance price. I was also informed I could check the other rental agencies in the area if I didn't like it. I did check and as there was a large car show in town there were no other cars available. After returning from checking the other agencies I returned and the same Dollar agent was arguing with another couple about the same insurance issue. I spoke to other couple and while commensurating with them said "this is a ripoff". The Dollar agent heard my comment and yelled at me that she did not have to give me a car ant that my reservation was cancelled. Thankfully I have relatives in the Frankfurt area and was able to be picked up by them. I did rent a nice (much larger)car out of Advantage car rental in the same terminal 2 days later. The price was only a little more and they provided excellent service. I will NEVER rent a car from Dollar car rental again, and I WILL tell everyone I know this story.

Example of you get what you pay for...cheap rate but horrible car!!! Bald tire & front shook so bad could hardly keep it on the road. When Icalled & complained, I was told I would be charged towing fee for replacement vehicle IF DOLLAR DID NOT FEEL THERE WAS A MAINTENANCE PROBLEM!!! First & last time I will rentfrom Dollar.
