Horrible First Impression at 5th 3rd Bank
Today was my first experience at Fifth Third Bank, and it was not pleasant. I only wanted to cash a check from a friend who banks there. Upon attempting the transaction I was immediately informed that it would cost me $4 just do this. I was also given the option to open an account with them in lieu of being charged the $4, I flatly refused. I was outraged!I was outraged for a couple of reasons. In addition to being charged the fee, they also looked up my personal information online along with my friend's information prior to cashing the check. This has never happened to me before. Usually if I am cashing a check at another bank, at most they may request a second id and thumbprint. If this Fifth Third's way of gaining new customers then it is horrifying at the very least! I didn't get a good first impression and would not recommend anyone bank there.
