To install Garmin Express you has to stop/disable your firewall (see help pages).
Furthermore you have to set higher privileges (NetworkSevice).
Garmin help page also advise to stop/disable the firewall as Express will not work....
What a crud of software.

I bought a Garmin 2555 lmt. If I leave my home at 400 sullivan lane wagarville al 36585 and travel east to hiway 43 and turn south my gps correctly tells me to go south. But if I am traveling north when I reach hiway 43 my gps also tells me to go south for about 2 miles and then turn north. There is no need for this because I can legally go north as soon as I get to hiway 43. In fact there are several places where I can turn back before getting to where my gps tells me to turn back north. The same thing when I am traveling north to my home. My gps tells me to go north to the next turn and go back south to sullivan lane.

It is not possible to send an email or contact them. I have a 610 Forerunner that after 18 months has had a complete failure due to sweat getting into the mechanism, and I'm told that it is now my problem. For a watch of that value, one would expect it to last a good few years, and also the seal to be at least sweat resistant.

Garmin maps lifetime updates are a joke. Seriously Garmin, this is the best you can do? Fours hours to download the update. What a pain.

After buying my second Garmin that now has gone to the crapper again. I will not buy another one.
Company said the cost to repair is going to start at $123.00. I bought it for that less than 2 years ago.

Wasted 90 minutes of my time trying to download and update maps for my GPS and still accomplished nothing. I was able to download it to my computer but then it wouldn't download to my device. Complete waste of my time.

To anyone comtemplating buy a Garmin GPS product, I say don't waste your time. I have purchased two of their products and within two years, they were junk. Try to call customer support???? Forget about that, they tell you it's a 30-35 minute wait, you wait an hour and then they disconnect you and they expect you to start all over again. Try to get map updates??? They tell you you need to buy microchips to boot your memory on your device. So you only download the USA maps instead of Canada and the USA. Then you try to get a map update once you buy a microchip, and the Garmin system will not let you update your device to include Canada, EVEN THOUGH YOU PAID FOR LIFETIME MAPS!!!! If you want to experience this frustration in person, just buy a Garmin GPS. They are absolutely pathetic.

"Recalculating...recalculating...recalculating..."

My Garmin GPS recalculates more often than it actually gives directions. It also has the problem of not giving me enough time to react to turns, meaning I end up missing them and having more recalculation.

Garmin should quit screwing it's customers!
Nuvi 750 doesn't get free map updates, yet nuvi 205 does, at a third of the cost of the 750.?
WTF if we had not bought all of the 750's they wouldn't have been in business to sell the 205's.
Great way to go garmin, I'll never buy another of your products, you didn't put up the positioning satellites, the US taxpayer did, and now you profit from that technoligy and want to screw consumers more!

Garmin customer service is terrible, waiting 15 20 minutes to get to talk to anyone and still issues are unresolved. My nuvi did not have a city in Arizona at all (Anthem) they told me I needed an upgrade my maps and of course my nuvi of 1 year did not have enough space to upgrade. I had to buy a storage unit and so spent $90 on the one time map update and $30 on the mini storage piece and my unit now shows double of all the maps I already have an still no Anthem, Az!! What A rip off!!

Out of whack

Garmin navigation systems are quite unhelpful. The program often does not give fast enough warnings to make proper turns, and has an unhelpful interface.

Excellent customer service

My wife purchased a Garmin 550c Echo Depth Finder back in January 2012, to give me for a birthday present this past May. I installed the 550c a few days later and the backlight did not work. replacement 550c. I knew it was past the 30 day limit for a free replacement, but called Garmin Customer Service anyway. I explained the backlight problem and was provided all the information I needed to send the unit back to Garmin. With in 11 days from the date I sent the defective unit to Garmin, I had a new unit delivered and was installed the next day. Excellent depth finder, fantastic clarity and easy to use. Thanks, Garmin. Ron C.

I am on a search and rescue team in western Colorado. I purchased a Garmin etrex legend a few years ago and it's sole purpose was for search and rescue callouts. Batteries were removed and it was stored in a watertight case when not in use. This unit has not been on more than two (2) dozen times in its entire life. Last year the display started collapsing to a single vertical line. I suspected batteries at first but new, fresh out of the package batteries did not resolve it. If you are looking for a GPS on which your safety or that of others is reliant, I WOULD NOT recommend purchasing a Garmin.

Poor Customer support

Garmin will not repair my Rino 530. The unit is three years old and already discontinued. Customer service said they no longer have parts even though it is the same unit as the 530 hcx which is not discontinued. For crying out loud. You can still get parts for a 1955 Chevy but not a three year old GPS? No offer of a discount on an upgrade or new unit or anything. Too bad so sad was their answer. Planned obsolescence is their game. The only recourse is to buy a new unit but it will never ever be a Garmin. I will tell everyone I can about their poor customer service and boycott all Garmin products.

BIG Software Issues

I just bought the Garmin Nuvi 3790LMT. Like other new pieces of hardware, it looks pretty. However, that's as far as I've gotten. I spent more than an hour on the phone with fairly lame tech support trying to get the Garmin "Communicator" software to run on my new Windows 7 computer. This software is designed to connect my new Nuvi to Garmin and allows registration and map downloads. It did the following: first install failed, then - after many many modifications to the browser by tech support - failed to connect with both Explorer 9 and the latest release of Chrome, completely and repeatedly hung both browsers when the Nuvi was connected, couldn't uninstall this software, couldn't shut down the computer. Finally hard rebooted and uninstalled the "communicator". The name kind of makes me chuckle. Still haven't registered! Customer Support Manager was not available! The unit is GOING BACK! P.S....still NOT the worst Customer Service. This award is currently a race between Google and Samsuck!
