meh
even though the facilities are really good, this gym is too expensive. i ended up paying $100+ for a month worth of membership

Horrible
I cancelled my membership over a year ago, I have been receiving decline charge emails for at least the past 2 months. I have tried for the past 3-4 weeks to get a hold of someone, all I get is the local gym and a "I will have my GM call you back." I am NOT receiving a call back and I am still getting the emails that they are trying to pull money and getting declined.

Golds Gym in Monroe NY is the worst! The owner is a jerk who owns other local business's all with bad reviews. Equipment at the gym is always broken. When you complain about they say it will be fixed, but never is. there is always at least 4 tredmills not working.

Hello,
I bought 2 Golds Gym Adjustable Hand Grips at Wal-mart they are adjustable from 20 to 90 lbs. After using them for about a month first the tension spring broke in one and then about a week later the spring broke in the second one!! Can you send me new springs for them??

The Kennewick WA Golds Gym is ghetto!! I had to go through 4 treadmills until I found one that worked and the next night 3 ellipticals. Equipment is dangerously unmaintained, gym is dirty and smells like urine. I just got charged my yearly maintenance fee which ironic ly went up from $29 to $39. NOT WORTH IT.

I own my own gym and within the last 3 months bought 4 resistance bands made by your company. All of them broke and hurt someone....There is no reason for resistance bands to break after a few uses unless they are poorly made. I wasted 60.00 and will not do that again. I want my money back... if you care to reply

Unsanitary
I have been a member of Gold's Gym for several months now. Location in Hope Mills, NC. There seems to be an issue with maintaining paper towels to clean the equipment after usage. This is unsanitary & has been my experience at least three times. I have addressed it with the local gym but it has not brought any change.The ladies' bathroom sink has been out of order for months. I cringe when I think of the germs floating around this place.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!
I became a member of my local Gold's Gym when I was 18 and got a 3-year membership. Worst choice of my life! I could not simply cancel my account when I wanted to, was still charged when my location closed for remodeling, and was charged after the end of my contract! It took FOREVER for me to get through to the company to cancel, but it finally worked. Be careful and PAY ON TIME or they will charge you ridiculous late fees (I had a $23.99 monthly fee and if I was late, was charged $43.29!). Make sure to keep a copy of your membership agreement in case they try to swindle you out of your money! This company is AWFUL and the only reason they stay in business is because they cheat customers into monthly memberships that they cannot get out of!!!

Gold's Gym @ Lexington,SC: Crappy Trainer
Joined last week, $30/month, great big and well equipped facility, but today on 1st workout visit, the trainer started the hard sell to get me to pay $360 month for his services 2x/week. When I said no he got pouty and huffy and said "You can go now", as though he was ever in charge of that. What a zero and what a pathetic sales program. I'll keep going and I might even need a trainer sometimes, but it'll be a cold day in Pismo Beach before I pay Gold's one extra dollar for anything.

I agree with everyone else. Our Gold's Gym is AWFUL! The children's caretaker that was there when I joined was so sweet and alert. That's the only time I've seen her. The one that has been there ever since is foul and my kids (3 & 5) just about hate her... if that's even possible for little ones. The "newly remodeled" gym wreaks of weeks old sweat now. The locker doors are literally hanging off, the trim trips you because they can't seem to nail it on. The sauna trash stays in there for weeks. Lightbulbs are out for days on end. The pins in the equipment need to be oiled because they are stuck and very difficult to remove.
As far as signing up... don't. The very convincing sales man will tell you things that ARE not in the contract but will tell you they are... even pointing to supposed clauses. LOTS of faulse advertisement.

I bought a Golds gym treadmill it took me a year to save up the money to buy one and it was a big mistake it broke two days after warranty expired pretty good thanks a lot gold nonow I have no treadmill and wasted money that I really couldn't afford to spend I thought I was buying reliable equipment .I lost 115 lbs.and I bout this to keep the weight off again thanks a lot gold for putting out faulty equipment from this day on I wouldn't recommend none of Yall product to anyone and I was really supporting Yall when people asked me how I lost the weight
