Good will is not for the community yes they hire people with disabilities but so do other corporations the people who work there work hard for there pay check it also is used to cover up there profits and how they run there businessalso to look good help the neighborhood ya right all clothes that are donated are tax write off for the people who give but good will dont pay taxes its a nonprofit organization but wait they dont wash the clothes before selling them ,price for a shirt 10 to 12 dollars pants the same so basically u run a business on enterprise and and make free money its easier to cover everything up because u involve local mental health places to work with u so everyone will think u are doing a good thing not true! You live off of others misfortunes a d make money shame on u the people in the community that need a place to buy cheap clothes are not helpped if the clothes are free why are the prices so high today goodwill is not for the low income person but for the average middle class oh u have to pay rent light and employees so do other stores and there new clothes are clean and the same price I need more clarity!! and what's up with the new goodwill card save money ya after u send about 500 dollar u get enough point to buy one item just keeping it real

Good morning, your pricing system needs adjusting. We the public donate freely gently used or new items. It is our belief the items will be sold reasonably You selling items highly priced some items are sold up to $5.00 over newly priced items. This is poor business I send clients, customers to you who can't afford to purchase new but you are cheating us all. We the public will be looking at exposing, revealing photos of your items vs new items & their prices.
We need to reexamine where our donations should go.

I was totally amazed at some of the prices the Tacoma Washington goodwill"s where charging. Most of there items where either broke, did;nt work or where missing a part and they where asking way too much, heck you could go to walmart and buy the stuff new for half the price they are asking. And another thing when they get something good donated they simple put it on line at there website, it don't go into the local stores to help that community, they simple put it on line so the whole world can try and buy it,now tell me how is this helping the local community? Its not. All I see is all these new stores there building or remodeling now how is this helping the local community? Again its not. Jobs now they want your change to pay for there job training, what the heck is this? They want customers to pay for there job training. Please. Goodwill is GREEDY, GREEDY, GREEDY. DONT DONATE YOUR GOODS TO THE GOODWILL SO SOME EXECUTIVE CAN GET RICH OFF OF IT. Non-profit my Azz. Biggest joke yet. I guarantee you someone is profiting off of the goodwill and its not the local community's. Jobs for the disable or handicap people, funny where are they working? Its not in the 10 stores they have around here in Tacoma or Seattle's 10-15 stores... Another fine example of the crap they feed the public people.

It takes patience

If you have the patience and time to sift through all the stuff goodwill has, there are some tremendous deals to be found. Sometimes its a gamble, you just have to be weary. A lot of times you can find expensive, or hard to find items, or exact replacements for things that are normally very expensive for pennies on the dollar. Half off- saturday is a madhouse, and always a lot of fun. My recommendation is to go from area to area, and think of maybe one or two things you would like to find in each little department. For instance once I needed a cable for my digital camera, Sony wanted around $60 or so from their website. It took a couple different stores and a few visits, each time id check through ALL the cables. I have since found 2, and see others all the time. Most cables are around 1.99-2.99. Patience, have an idea of what you want to find, look through EVERYTHING. Be open to finding some really cool stuff.

One thing I have found is that to shop at Goodwill you might as well be rich. The prices for used things at Goodwill are higher than Walmart has it for new things. The Goodwill in Panama City, Florida is specially faulty for that. I do not know that Goodwill sold things that were extravagantly expensive. An old phone from the 90's 10.00. One panel curtain 20.00,an old WII handle 29.00, The best one I found was a set of hour wine glass (not Crystal) going for 29.99 and one of the glasses was missing, so that the set was incomplete.
My point is that Goodwill is there to help the people that need it by offering things at a discounted rate. If I was truly in need for clothes or something else that is essential to life, I would not be able to afford it at Goodwill. Greed is getting in the way of helping people.

Who Pays $100 For a Pair of Jeans?

I have used Goodwill for a fraction of my clothes shopping for as long as I can remember. You can find gently used name brand clothes if you look hard enough and pay less than half the price! Goodwill is supposedly a non-profit company and help others in the community help find jobs. Even if they weren't such great philanthropists, I would still shop with them because of the great deals!

Love!

I love Goodwill stores. There are always interesting things to find in the stores, and they always have great prices. When I was pregnant, I needed affordable maternity jeans and I found SO many at Goodwill! The employees are helpful, the selection is vast, and the prices are beyond wonderful. Great store, recommended!
