What has happened to Hotmail since the up-grade to Outlook??

The 'spell check' icon no longer exists and as for the 'attach' function - that icon no longer appears on the page and the alternative just doesn't work.

I have given up trying to attach CVs etc because the service is so unreliable. Twice this morning I have had to use my BT account because an important application could not be sent. WHAT IS GOING ON???

Outlook is shocking. I never had the 'log in problems' I am now having with Outlook. When I do manage to log in, I have problems opening my emails.

The "New" Look

Any Company that makes changes to a Program will be frowned on by some people since they were already comfortable with the way it was before the change. Now, we have to get accustomed to the new "Outlook" format instead of "Hotmail", which really isn't too bad.

i accepted the change as it came and find using Outlook fairly easy. Although, there are some items removed while others were added.

Overall, Outlook is not difficult to use and may become a favorite over time.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! Newer is not always better!! I have had my Hotmail account since the inception of Hotmail and I can only remember one other time when Hotmail attempted to change their format...it didn't work then and it doesn't work now. One example is if you check-mark all the e-mails that you know you want to delete, all at once, with the "clear all checked," it doesn't work...this was a huge time saver for me before, and time is money! I also can no longer find on any e-mail that is over a day old the time the e-mail was sent?? This is very important when dealing with legal matters. And whoever came up with the "..." to find other options such as printing should no longer have a job!! I have stayed with Hotmail all these years because they weren't always changing things...I may have to re-think that??!!!

I, Ashley M. Would love to tell everyone involved in â??hotmail.comâ?? that I hate this whole "outlook" setup very much! I want the "hotmail" setup back! If this is an update, you terribly failed! i remember when I was younger, approximately 9 or 10 years old my dad bought our family their first computer & printer; a couple years later is when I learned that you could email anyone in the whole world, (obviously as long as they had an email address) finally when I became a teenager I was able to create my very own email account. My dad clicked on his email icon & began 2 explain this amazing new technology. he clicked on "outlook express" I was so excited & impressed with the entire emailing concept I couldn't wait to ask my friends what their address was & for the next month or 2 the only thing I paid attention to was whoever that lady was that would say "you've got mail" in such a heavenly, pleasing voice! I knew that as soon as I heard her voice, I was officially not a kid anymore & it felt like I was actually someone w/some importance & I was evidently a member of the "cool" crowd. when I chose to have a @hotmail.com account because most of my friends were I realized how lame, boring, & generic "outlook express" was & ever since then I refuse to even click or download anything related to that 1 star application. Over 10 years later someone decided to change an already 5 star creation... referring to hotmail; & take it all away from millions of people, almost going clear back to the ol' drawing board; known for being marked w/sketches & scribbles, symbols & abbreviations only the elite would understand; always set up in a room that seems only available if you knew what the magic password was, or a code phrase, possibly even a pin number . Equipped w/a fancy, long table w/chairs made only for the top dogs who work & stand for The world wide, multi-trillion dollar company "hotmail.com" . Choosing to change every person / place, that hotmail.com provides to. On top of that, they didn't even bother to let us know, via email, dialog box, or memo notice. Maybe even send a group email (obviously shouldn't be a complex task, hence you are an email service reminder!) saying something in this manner; â??hey just letting our fellow members we will be changing the entire placement & overlay as well as the entire â??work-flowâ?? currently applied to your email profile/home page.. So please don't get alarmed when you go check your email & panic because it looks nothing like the site you've been using & relying on for months, years, even decades & in some cases. Thanks for your dedication & we deeply appreciate your choice to email threw our company verses hundreds of other email companyâ??s.â?? Also, it would have been a very good idea to mention it WILL NOT BE CALLED HOTMAIL from now on, & one-step further, our name is now,

MICROSOFT WINDOWS-LIVE : [aka]

â??OUTLOOKâ??

I told you how I remember the first â??designâ?? used for emailing back in the 90â??s for a reason, reason being: your attempt in upgrading/revising hotmail FAILED MISERABLY & doesnâ??t even come close to rating higher then the old school, first version, â??outlook express Microsoft 95â?? I recall over a decade ago & **newsflash** IT IS 2013! As youâ??ve read, Iâ??m a very unhappy member of your email service; I have not deleted my hotmail accountâ?¦yet that is. Iâ??m noticing millions of complaints worldwide & literally, ZERO comments of satisfaction, or impressibility. I apologize for dragging this complaint out to the full extent & all the petty details I thought were necessary to get my point across that what you all (whom it may concern) did to an ungodly amount of people is just not ok & will not be tolerated what so ever. Luckily, youâ??re not an emailing service that requires monthly payment of any sort, because if it was, your net gross would be getting lower & lower by the second & might look a lot like this

-$9999999999999999.99

Have a crumby day, glad I could be a help to you & hope this really made your day! thank you, try again!

Sincerely,

A current hotmail.com email user looking for a new email brand!

Hotmail freezes and a box "1 item" follows the cursor. That issue happens only with Firefox. In IE9 it doesn't happen.
I believe that Microsoft did that intentionally to force people using their behemoth IE9. I used Hotmail for many years, but now it's time to switch to Google.

Pretty mediocre by today's standards.

If you only use email occasionally, and only need to send short emails to single recipients, Hotmail will do the job. When trying to accomplish more complicated tasks, Hotmail falls short in comparison to competitor mail systems.

Hotmail was my first eMail account

Hotmail was the one with which I started my internet career and if you ask me today I don't use it anymore. Hotmail is very far behind from other email clients such as yahoo, Gmail and Rediff.

I don't hate this but also don't like it because the emails which anyone sends to me takes lot more time to receive than other email clients which get me in seconds. If you want a primary email address than i would not recommend you to use this service.

Although I will advise you to keep this Hotmail email address as secondary and use only on rare times.

Hotmail nightmare

My email was hacked and for 3 days now ithas been a nightmare. I am not getting much help. They gace me a pin for a private forum and the pin isn't valid. They ask me to sign in but my password has been changed so I can't sign into anything. I have tried to reset it with no success. Click on a page go try to get help and it brings you to at least 3 pieces of info u don't need (waste of time)What a joke I am so frustrated............. If I recover my account I will get the info I need and delete the account and never use hotmail again
