Absolutely aweful!! New machine - never worked and 2 months later not sorted.

Only 4 years old and my refrigerator door is rusted almost through in several places. The vinyl covering is peeling off in ugly scabs.
We once owned a 40's model GE with the compressor on top that looked good after more than 40 years or use. Sixty or seventy years later products are just flashier, not better made.

Have a Hotpoint dishwasher that is about 3 years old (may be less). The seal at the bottom of the door is giving off black 'gloop' if you touch it. Thought it would be simple to replace. Apparently I need a WHOLE NEW DOOR (£95) for a small rubber seal. The hinges have broken as well. It's a heavy door when it drops down on your shins!
Won't be buying another Hotpoint dishwasher.

hotpoints not good anymore!!!!

I bought a Hotpoint stove for my kitchen remodel. I hadn't had it in place but a month before two of the top burners went out. They came and fixed it but then the same thing happened. Again, they came out and fixed it but that time I told them I wanted the stove replaced. Another month went by and it did it again!! I called and told them I wanted the stove replaced since this had happened three times now. They told me they would replace it if it did it again after they repaired it this time. So far the repair is holding but I'm afraid it's going to go past the warranty and then break down irreparably. Beware, Hotpoint used to mean quality but not any more!
