I stayed at an american best value, and by far it was the worst value. My family and I stayed in the one by Pittsburgh airport. The rooms are outdated, they still have tube tvs. Everyone on the tv was green. There was no remote control. The tub made noise. There was no iron, no iron broad. This place is a dive!! Stay away from this old outdated place if possible!!!

I forgot to add to my survey of being at the king oscar hotel in centralia washington on March 21st, 2014. I said don't go. Two more reasons to add. The heater unit blew right at you with no adjustment and very complicated to make changes. Pillows were huge and just chunks of foam cut up, extremely uncomfortable. The food service area is very small so if anyone is in there then there is no access to the food. The place should not be on your list!!!

Hidden fees + star rating exaggerated

Some pages on Hotwire.com disclose "resort fee" will be added after booking but some pages do not. I booked such a hotel (no resort fee mentioned on the "ad" page) and lo and behold, a resort fee will be charged by the hotel. Their star rating is exaggerated.

I was using hotwire.com to book a four star hotel in New York. It was a very disappointing experience. Hotwire does not disclose the name of the hotel before you pay and mentioned the deal will be great and lower than market. It turns out the Hotel is bad and the regular price is lower than I paid through Hotwire.com. when we try to contact them and there is no phone number available for customer to call just a message say they will contact you in 12 to 24 hours. What a pity for customer !!! Will not recommend this site for anyone at all. It is not like to do business with American way but the 3rd world countries treatment. They got you once and does want the following business.

I should have known better but made a reservation for Thanksgiving up in the Atlanta area where we lived for over 18 years. Hotline said they had a 3 star hotel in the area where we used to live so we booked it. When they revealed the name of the hotel, we realized that it was NOT a 3 star hotel and not in an area we would stay. So, now we are out the money and made another reservation. This is the last time we will use their services as they do not have true advertising.

Mistake by your rep. caused me to be billed twice by Delta for applied flight.

Called to verify confirmation of my first application. Your rep said there was no app.and agreed that I should make another app. Got call from a 2nd rep. that I had made two apps. for the same flight. I explained that the 1st rep. mis-informed me Revealed he had tried to access my 1st app. by using my email address (taenstogie @cinci.rr. com) but omitted the "rr". I got billed twice by Delta consequently, even though 2nd app. was cancelled. Hotwire made mistake but I paid.

Don't rent a car from Hotwire. They don't tell you (unless its buried somewhere in the fine print) that you cannot cancel your reservation. You are stuck for whatever the amount you booked. No exceptions - "we gotcha sucker."

BUYER BEWARE!!!

I had my last dealings with Hot Wire. I will never use them again!
I recently booked hotels on a business trip at the beginning of September 11. The first hotel turned out to be a disaster. I booked a 3 1/2* hotel - but it turned out to be barely a 2*. The room smelled horrible and when I went to complain to the front desk, they told me that was the level of room booked by Hot Wire. On my last day, I found bed bug bites over my upper body. The room was infested - I even took a video of the bugs. I threw out the PJ's I was wearing that night along with my luggage. After many complaints to Hot Wire, all I got was $25.00 credit to be spent on future bookings. They don't care!!

Poor customer service

Bad helP with customer service, they made an error in a ticket while i was in travel, i was then stuck with the charge of 150$ to buy the same ticket twice. Dont use hotwire

Hotel

BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS FOR BOOKING TRAVEL NEEDS. TOTALLY INFLEXIBLE AND DEMEANING TO CUSTOMERS.
The hotel star rating system they use is at least 1 or 2 stars above competitor booking companies. Check out Hotels.Com or Hotel Planner for accurate ratings. Otherwise, you will not be satisfied with the accomodations.

This is the first time I used Hotwire to book a hotel room without knowing the location. I went by the number of stars hotwire rates its hotels and I selected a 3 star hotel but after the booking and finding the location of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suite in Seattle/Northgate Mall area. The information on the hotel states its a 2 star hotel not a 3 star hotel as requested. I'm disappointed in that but I am willing to see and stay there unless there is something you can do to find me a better hotel in a safer location with the same price or better for the same length of stay. Unsure traveler.

I booked a 4 night hotel in Orlando, Fl when doing the reservation it stated Disney MainGate Celebration so I assume it has to be a hotel in Disney or near Disney and to my surprise after I reserve I notice it had nothing to do with Disney or near Disney and I called 2 minutes after I reserved and after holding 10 minutes I was told that no cancellations I told her to help me get a new hotel I was not satisfied with hotel and I would pay difference or pay cancellation fee but simply no and no help .. I have booked with hotels.com and priceline and I have never had an experience like this one .... I am dissapointment that as a customer I was not satisfied and my vacation I will not be what I had planned with my family...never gain .......
