Unit is (was) less than two years old. Battery is shot. Can't be replaced by user. Website is useless. Manual is useless. This thing cost me over 250. I'll never buy another Magellan product again.

CHECK THE MANUFACTURE DATE ON BOX BEFORE BUYING !!!!!! Bought a roadmate 3 days ago!!! Will not upgrade software or maps ..Freezes my computer... Called Magellan---- Sorry product is past warranty ... can't help TOO BAD SO SAD
Seriously the thing was purchased 3 DAYS ago and is no longer covered enough to help me update the #### maps!!!!! BUY GARMIN !!!!!!!!

I liked it
I liked the Magellan hand sets, though the price is little bit in higher side, but it's design is quite cool and I also appreciate the hard ware components.

my son is trying to get detox from Heroin and since this is the second time they are not approving it, this insurance is horrible and they don't think of patient. I don't know what they are thinking? they keep saying if his situation is getting worst call us. What is worst? when I find him dead?

We bought 3 Magellan GPS units one Christmas, within a year they all broke. Magellan did no care or help us, we switched to GARMIN and we are much happier.

Got a new Roadmate GPS the second Magellan GPS which I've owned. The warranty is packed with the instrument and the exclusions make the warranty practically worthless. Looks like they don't need to do anything if your instrument stops working. Also, you might think you will start out using your new roadmate with the latest maps. Well you might, if there has been no update for a while, but don't count on downloading the latest at the time you register. You can of course buy it for $80 more.

Bought Roadmate 5045T-EU.
Very inconsistend. Sometimes guides you in total differrent direction just a couple of hundred meters before your final destination.
Also the closest turning/intersection/exit distance which is shown on the map is 0.1km or 0.1 miles. This is totally unaceptable. Have they ever driven in a European city?
Now I am stuck with it,and it does not do the job which it was made for.
