Netgear wireless extender
I purchased this product from Best Buy and have contacted Netgear who refuses to help me with support on their product. The username and password randomly comes up and does not allow you to set one up. its seems to be a product flaw. Their service is horrible and when they refuse to provide you with support they place you on hold FOREVER. I do not recoomend this product or Netgear support. Buyer beware!Easy to set up, but..
The network, being slow enough, constantly shuts off during rain or if moved in the slightest bit. Maybe its just my router, so I will give it a fair 3.Last night I decided to burn my NetGear N600. I had to reset the router because I lost the password. I reset the router back to the factory settign and when it came back, it would not pull an IP from Comcast. We called Comcast and they told us the modem has a strong signal and that (of course) they don't support 3rd party equipment but did give us the number to NetGear. Just like everyone else who called, we got the runaround and then the sales pitch. I could not believe how difficult it was to speak to one person who (1) I could understand and (2) someone willing to give me a straight answer. This routers download speed dimenished rapidly over a 4-6 month period. Going to pick up a Cisco and move forward.
Very bad piece of gear, stay away from them.
I decided to upgrade my router from a 2wire 2700HGV and bought a Netgear N600 DGND3700.
I have now installed the Netgear, but the download speed has been reduced from 3.5 down to 2.5mb.
I wanted the Netgear as I will soon have ASDL2+ and I wanted better wifi and usb streaming, but not at the expense of slower speeds.

Netgear produces decent quality products. Just hope that you know how to use them and don't require technical support. You will end up overseas with someone who has never actually used the product and is reading a script off a screen.Support is a joke. Unless you are within 90 days of purchase, forget it. I have a one word answer to the problem:
CISCO
netgear tech support sucks, I pay $200 for a damn router and they want 69 dollars for tech support and they cant even speak clear English. never buying netgear again. they can take this 200 dollar router and shove it up their ass.
Netgear sucks. Worst customer service ever. Tech support reps barely spoke any english, did not understand what was needed and worse yet, tried to troubleshoot other vendors equipment and not theirs....
NETGEAR SUCKS
