Comparing OnStar to Google maps, it has been my experience on this trip that OnStar maps have been less accurate. On several occasions, exit numbers on OnStar have been wrong, roads have been mislabeled, and routing has been circuitous.

I have had Onstar for the past 6 years and it has responded flawlessly. I use it for phone calls when ever I am i n the car since Maryland now has a no texting and no cell phone use while driving, I
also leaving the keys in my car all to frequently, The hey are courteous and prompt. Beats waiting for AAA for 45 minutes. Kudos to all concerned.

On the afternoon of June 23, we encountered a dust storm on Interstate 10 in Western New Mexico. The visibility went to zero in seconds, and we struck a van stopped in our driving lane. Fortunately we had slowed to about 35 mph, but still had a crash. The air bags deployed and within seconds an OnStar representative was on the line and inquired if we were injured and if we needed assistance. We did not suffer serious injuries, and an Border Patrol Officer who had witnessed the accident had already called for help. The OnStar representative was very calming and reassuring, especially for my wife who was very frightened and in some pain. She stayed on the line for a long time, keeping in touch with everything that was happening. We do not want to be without OnStar every again.

I used on-star for quite a while, but when I purchased a new car with on-star capability the prices had sky rocketed and the customer service too pushy. I also have bluetooth ability so I will use that and hope for the best. I really enjoyed it, but the cost more than trippled. No thank you!

bot new chevy with onstar,going back in reverse I passed out went through a barn and stop in aditch fullof water . rescue was called not by onstar car towed to dealer.onstar didn't know where car was.called onstar they told me car had a low rear tire. onstar gave me 30 free days,the trouble was car was being fix for 70 days.16 thou damage. onstar is nouthing but a bigggg joke

i don't get it you pay them 30 dollars a month and if you don't use the service every day of the month that is really money lost.not enough for my money they suck

Cancelling onstar
It used to take 2 seconds for onstarto respond. Now it a takes 2 minutes.
I've been trying to cancel for a week.
Nobody answers or they pur you on hold for 20 minutes and then hang up.

On Star is in need of a Government Motors overhaul. It is the worst communications system that a American Company could build! Even Microsoft Sync and Toyota's Safety Connect works much better.

Before you can find out how much the minutes cost you have to register for the service - customer protection laws prohibit companies from disguising the price of their services/products. When I contact their service rep, he replied that the price of minutes is "an aside" to the tracking of my vehicle and therefore doesn't have to be revealed in advance. OnStar is a con.
