IS THERE ANY LEVEL BELOW ONE STAR?

I have read the comments posted here long enough to know few people are satisfied with Rhapsody and/or the switch from Rhapsody to Napster. The company's (Rhapsody's) promise that Napster will be the same service as what Rhapsody offered and what we are paying for is absolutely not true. I believe we have enough people with the same complaint to consider a class action suit. There are even FEWER selections of certain artists on Napster, instructions on how or where to save your music are obscure at best (as with Rhapsody we had a very functional library, clear instructions) even to the point of not being able to set up a playlist without interrupting the current selection playing. The very up front and center Customer Service phone number than doesn't work was the last straw for me. Those of us who paid for Rhapsody for years have taken a GIANT step back and are PAYING THE SAME MONEY. I personally am checking into Spotify and Google Music. Let them have there 34 countries - what with 10-15 people in each?

New update

Does anyone else feel like a kid at Christmas with the new rhapsody or just me? It is awesome! They have also added many more alblums that I wanted for classical music with the new update. Exhaustive is not the word. I now can get a complete body
of work for all composers that I wanted before. Thanks.

Glory days are over!

Rhapsody was one of the original music downloading services and it was a great program. I used it daily and enjoyed the music that was available. However, with the entrance of other music players, Rhapsody was soon forgotten. They have tried to update their look multiple times and entice new customers, but it just doesn't work. I enjoyed it at one time, but don't see myself using it in the future.

Lost 250 PURCHASED songs on Napster

Poor communication with someone from India. Hung up on 3 times. No help. They talk in circles when you bring up Napster.

Very unhappy Napster customer with Rhapsody service. What can we do?

As you know many of thousands and maybe even millions of loyal Napster customers have been screwed now by this take over of Napster by Rhapsody. Many thousands and even millions are so unhappy and down right pissed off. I am like millions of you out there with the same anger and pissed off. I have been looking for a new music download service/company that is in the most part close to or similar in service to Napster type service. I would like to find a new music service that treats customers as #1. As many of you know, Napster had one of the best music services around and also one of the best music libraries around. There service was great, there music player was great, the way it was set up and the fetchers they offered on the player and the way you looked for music was great. Top 100 billboards, oh was that great to find top musics in the different years. Also being able to sync almost any MP3 player to it and sync your music too. Able to download unlimited music to your hard drive for one low monthly rate. Napster also had a good bite rate sound quality too, way better then Rhapsody. Too much good stuff to name all here.

Does anyone here know of a music service like Napster or similar too?

Also as I was searching the Internet I did come across a few new start-ups or fairly new music services. I thought to myself, what if everyone from the old Napster was to rally around one of these new start-ups and e-mail them or call them and encourage them to look into maybe doing a new kind of Napster 2.0 It may have a different name but, it would be close too the old Napster as we all used to enjoy. The music player would have many of the same functions and fetchers and the same type of services like, unlimited downloads for one monthly price. Or some subscription plans as Napster did. One of the biggest music libraries. Able to sync to most of the MP3 players on the market and not be restricted to only a few you are locked into like Rhapsody supports. And a USA based tech and customer support as Napster. Well you all get the picture. Can you believe what can happen to that new music service/company? They would rocket to the top as one of the best music services around as Napster was. They would eventually have millions of loyal customers. And remember they would make a decent profit, as they should to stay in business.

So why not lets start posting here the music services. lets everyone start listing what music services we like and feel would work and then in a few we can all see witch one or maybe two we can start contacting to see if they would be interested. See strength in numbers and voting with are money can work. Start sharing it with your friends and family. Get the word out. Post something about this on your blogs. Tell these other music download service/companies when you contact them about the issue and why we are all so pissed off and how they can capitalize on this and how great the Napster service was and to be a new Napster type company and the best. And that millions of old Napster customers or ready and willing to support them. The Internet is powerful, get it on the Internet to all or any web site you can. Give the link to this post. LETS DO IT

Rhapsody is going down

With its current business model, we look for Rhapsody to fail very soon. The problems we have had since the so-called transition from Napster have been too numerous to list, including getting our money ripped off by trying to download songs that didn't show up. We called Customer Service 3 times and each time got different people in southern India who couldn't speak English enough to help us. Let the word go out...let everyone know that Rhapsody has chosen to take their jobs offshore to save money. They are not American, their business model SUCKS and they are going down!!

3/29/11 - Rhapsody has now decided that when you buy one song they hold $10 from your account. I use a debit card and that comes from my bill money. I called customer service and found out that this is their new policy so be careful! I intend to complain about this and hope you all will too.

Their being in India has nothing to do with it. Rhapsody wants to make it as difficult as possible to duck out of your service plan in the HOPE THAT YOU'LL FORGET to try again: (1) after you tried after hours; (2) after you gave up after having been placed on what I call "Punitive Hold"; (3) after you waded (and waited) through 15 minutes of computerized hold and were subject to the most gaudawful sounding music (I call it "that screaching noise" whenever I complain about hold-button mew-zack) that sounds worse than Hip-Hop blasting from a broken speaker -- only to get that one rare Indian who really can't speak a word of English.

Just today, I was too busy to find the time.

Another popular scam (a favorite among utilities) is to make mistakes and then make it so costly (in time *and* frustration) that (they hope) you'll just go ahead and eat the amount of the error or ripoff (etc).

Indians are among the best at communicating, once you take the time to learn the five or six idiosynchracies in their English. The one that threw me was, "May I please learn your name?" The politesse ingrained into their culture makes it abhorrent and unthinkable for them to use the phrasing most likely to be understood by Americans: "Your name, please?" or even "What is your name?" Indians are much too polite to speak to strangers this way, especially in a business context.

Note on Ratings: Reachability? Nonexistent. Cancellation process? What's that? I never got through! Issue resolution? Again, I never got through. Friendliness? Product knowledge? How am I supposed to know? None of the numbers I've been given work! I can't log on to the site without buying the product (again).
