I like Southwest and fly it every chance I get. Compared to other airlines (for example, USAir), it is wonderful. The Southwest employees are friendly. Recently, Southwest waived a policy for me so I could use my points refund for use by another traveler. I love Southwest's no charge for changes and free bag.

The bottom price choice.

Southwest is often the cheapest option available. No more, no less. In other words, if you just want to get from point A to point B, then they are the way to go.

Cheap flying!

Southwest gets the job done cheap when it comes to short local flights. They are indeed unmatched when it comes to how cheap I can go back home during the holidays.

Helpful above and beyond the call of duty!!!!!!

My sister and daughter have Multiple Sclerosis. My daughter is doing quite well,however, my sister is not.She has total paralysis from her neck down,except for her diaphragm-for breathing. Not too long ago,her children treated her to an S.W.A flight to Disney,Fl. She NEVER goes away because she is very difficult to transport. Boarding was called. My sister was absolutely giddy with excitement,-until the transfer to the bulk head seat.My 2 nieces,nephew,and a male nurse could not get her seated. In this tight space it was very difficult to maneuver her. just as my sisters eyes started to swell up, the CAPTAIN and CO CAPTAIN appeared!!!!!!!In a NY minute they lifted her up and into the seat!!! Now,all of my family is apologizing to ALL of the staff,for being so much trouble. The staff AND the pilots are all saying "oh,no bother" NO BOTHER???? There is not an airline IN THE WORLD that would have done this!! May GOD BLESS YOU ALL-caring,kind and sympathetic staff of S.W.A!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Southwest Rewards SUCK! Southwest used to be the only airlines I flew----I have a Southwest Airlines Credit Card for miles (which I soon will be dumping)-----you have become the money hungry rip off artists like all the other airlines------I've been using Southwest rewards since 1994 & have been very happy! I spent lots of money with them as well---------I'm no millionaire, but what I make I used to spend a good portion with you! I'm so sick of never being able to use my old rewards because of blackout dates (which you never had in the early years) or the points system which is poor to say the least. 27,000 points to fly one way (F.U.) or 30,000 for a piece of s@$%& 4 day cruise for 1???? Come On Southwest-----go back to the old way so us poor under paid teachers & other under paid average Americans can enjoy some vacation time------------the CEO who probably makes millions! I know LOTS & LOTS & LOTS of educators who have given up on you as well---------extremely disappointed in an airline I used to consider the best.......now the least

I LOVE SW, however I don't like the new awards system either, and wish they gave you longer than 4 hrs to report damages to checked luggage. My retractable handle was broken upon arrival. My ride was there so I didn't stop to report then and there as you cannot remain in the loading area for more than a minute or so. I got online to report only to find out I was too late.

Just for travel

Southwest should be used if you are looking to travel. Not for travel and fun. The planes are not the cleanest at times and the service is lackluster. Use only for cheap travel.

I love you Southwest!!!!!
I fly 2 timwes a month and you are effiecient, friendly, and try very hard to please.....What a great airline and I wish you flew where AA flies as they are the worst.....wish you would have bought them!!!

Gets you where you want, no hassle.

Southwest gets the job done, no more, no less. While my numerous flights through their airline haven't been anything especially memorable, they haven't made any mishaps to make me stop using them. While I don't know the details of their rewards program, I've heard good stories about it.

Injured

I haven't flew Southwest for 15yrs because they were garbage back then. They had the buy one spouse flys free and my ex-husband use to like me to travel with him. Thank God they stopped that program so he would n't use them and we went back to flying AA, DELTA, & UNITED.
So I was hurt by southwest and they are taking no accountability what-so-ever not at the time and not now several years later, but I saw someone else hurt themselves and they stopped the plane and gave her free drinks, called EMT's and safety, filled out reports right after it happened and babied that passenger like they were in First Class - if they had one.

Cattle cars of the sky's. Pack them in & push em' out.
They are spending Millions on a campaign claiming better customer service - you can claim all you want something but if it ain't true it ain't true spending millions on advertising won't make them magically better.
Side note: their colors are UGLY looks like VOMIT

A compliment to an Agent

Jerry, A gate agent at SWA, Norfolk,VA, working at Gate A-3, flt 1721, to Tampa, FL. He took the extra time to take a picture of my 10-year old grandson flying unattended. Jerry entered the plane using my camera and took his picture seated in the plane. I then emailed the picture to his Grandmother in Tamps who was picking him up. Jerry did this for all (3) of us flying our grandkids back home. He did it and did it with "heart" and took the time to chat w/us and expressed that he could understand how we felt. You have a valuable employee. He represents SWA with all that SWA has come to be known. Friendly, and going the "extra mile" for us and it was much appreciated.

Southwest was excellant

I was pleased with SW. they I feel went above and beyond service. Our flight was booked with no problems online, tickets sent to the house. Day we flew went in up to the kiosk checked in everything was smooth. They have no seating arrangements so that makes it nice and free baggage which is wonderful. The service in the air is incredible drinks, snacks constantly they were great. I only fly Southwest the best. They take great care of their customers and I felt very well cared for.

I have three complaints about Southwest Airlines. (1.)They have eliminated all direct flights from Washington, D.C. to Orlando so I will now fly direct on Jet Blue. (2.)They changed their Rapid Rewards Program so that old flight credits cannot be converted to the new points. Only new points can be converted to credits, making old credits worthless in many cases. (3.)They now charge extra to get a good seat but the extra charge may still not assure you of a good seat. You were better off before by simply geting your seat assignment 24 hours before the flight.

Cheap & Satisfactory

SW is a good airline, at least as good as all the rest. They also have one of the high seat pitch dimensions in thier planes (i.e., leg room).

Used to be so much better!

This airline used to be so much better! Their flights used to be considerably less expensive, and their customer service was outstanding!

Now it seems they have switched their rewards system and completely screwed customers out of their earned tickets, and they have raised their prices. Sure they advertise "deals" for places the majority of people have no interest in, or the rate is only for certain departing airports which are again places the majority are not interested in.

Customer service is a joke.. you wait on hold forever only to end up with a rude rep who does not help at all...

On a March flight from Albany, NY to Orlando, Fl there were several passengers ina group who had been separated via the C boarding group who continually used loud, very foul language. One passenger in particular continually bothered the woman in front of him with loud vulgar language and insults. When we brought it to the attention of the flight attendants, we were told the two passengers were actually together as a couple and so there was nothing they could do about it. On a flight littered with many families on their way to Disney World, their lack of appropriate action was reprehensible! It finally took a passenger to get up and speak to the loudest offenders and tell them their language was offensive and to quiet down. They did for a bit and then the "F" word came out during landing, very loud and more than once! There was no action taken on the plane or at the gate in Orlando. I was on a Jet Blue flight where a similar situation occured befrore taxi and the pilot was alerted by the flight attendant. The captain made a call and the New York State troopers escorted the passenger and his companion from the flight. Granted here we were in air but something should have been done!
I have written to customer service and am awaiting a response. It has been almost a month now.

This is bull. I have been on hold for 59 minutes and 42 seconds according to my phone call length. No answer. This should be illegal. AN HOUR HOLD TIME AT 6 IN THE MORNING! Outrageous that a company can get away with wasting my time like this and still have a good customer service rating. That definitely won't last if things stay like this.

-At approximately 1 hr and 6 minutes someone picked up the phone and informed me that in order to help me with my customer service problem (Move a flight on to a rapid rewards account) I would have to call back on Monday. ARGGGGGGG!

I am pissed. I call today to renew an award that I had been told that could be reissued until 2/13/12. I was told with the new program as of March 1, it could not be renewed. This was my ticket and to take it away without prior notification is not fair. I do not know what to do to get this ticket. Any ideas. Rapid Rewards Account 31574546. Unhappy

Customer Service rating keeps getting worse. Each year that goes by, I have yet another issue. They are certainly not taking any effort at all to try and resolve issues with the customers.

This time around, had trouble with the website. Called them up and informed them what flight I wanted, but they nearly tripled the price for it. They told me that if I wanted the price offered, I would have to get it online. I told them that the website was giving me issues, and they told me that it is working fine, that it must be my computer. Didn't even attempt to try to get me my ticket at the advertised rate, just told me that it was too bad, try later.

I have tried to reach customer service about the loss of my Rapid Rewards tickets with the implementaion of the new improved benefits program since March 2, 2011.

Southwest Airlines has vast ideas implemented by half vast personnel.
