Most useless agent I've ever encountered

My car was hit in a parking lot by some drunken party guest at a catered function. Drunkie did not leave a note on my car after bashing in the rear bumper, but an eyewitness did leave a note along with a phone number. I contacted my agent, filed the police report, gave the witness info to the agent. The agent says it would be "better" for me to just handle this issue directly with the other company. Now why is that? Am I interrupting your online video game or porn with my pesky claim? So, Mr. Useless never contacted the witness and I am left dealing with the other agency. Of course they deflect all responsibility and I go around and around with them and they talk to the witness. Well, it turns out the witness used his camera phone to take pictures of Drunkie, Drunkie's license plate and the damage done to my car at the time it happened. So after almost a year of dealing with the other insurance company, I got a settlement to get my car fixed. I would like to know what purpose an agent serves if it is not to do the grunt work of submitting a claim and getting that claim paid, especially with evidence like a picture of a license plate and driver of the irresponsible drunken idiot that hit my car! The agent was useless and lazy and when I went over his head to try and get another agent assigned, the owner's wife (the office manager) re-routes me back to the lazy idiot. Lazy idiot really did not want to do anything. I have no idea why a slug like that has a job at all or why the agency would tolerate it, but they do. I can't say enough bad things about that particular agency (State Farm in Bradenton, Florida) or State Farm in general. I paid over $600 for a 6 month policy and when I needed help, it was not there. They couldn't be bothered. Screw them.

Your agent may be all smiles, but just try to get a claim paid.

The worst experience ever. They are trained to be insulting and aggressive toward the victim of an accident. I was going through an auto accident claim, which was not my fault, and was not contested by the other driver. They went out of their way to make my life even more stressful. Right before Christmas I was injured in an accident, I couldn't drive my daughter to school or church, and my husband was oversees with the Army. All of that I could have dealt with, but the insulting and rude way the representative treated me was inexcusable. The claim still isn't settled. I only one of many. They hope we will need the money badly enough that we will settle. I am trying to get anything more than the cost to fix my car and cover my medical bills. My own car insurance, USAA, would never treat someone this way. I have heard from other victims that State Farm selects their employees and then trains them to be this disagreeable. I am sure that the woman that hit me has no idea how hideous her insurance company has been.

Well taken care of

I was in an accident that was my fault in June of 2011. Oddly enough, a local State Farm agent was a witness to the accident. The agent started my claim on the spot, bought a drink and snack for my then four year old son (who was in the accident with me), and went over everything with me. I was in a renatl that same day and had my car fix within the week. I only had to pay a $500 decuctable, even though the damages were extensive. I received a letter in the mail appox two months later stating that the person I pulled out in front of had settle the matter-and it was done! Just like that! My premiums did go up, but it was well worth the service I received. I wouldn't have any other insurance company!!

State Farm

State Farm is a good insurance but after being with them for a number of years I have found much much cheaper. I am 43 never had a ticket and great credit. Also have a few policies. I have always thought State Farm was the one never really checked around. When rates always were going up I starting looking around.

I am insured with Allstate, but I was recently rear-ended by a man who is insured with State Farm. During the course of filing the claim and eventually getting my car repaired, State Farm was an absolute nightmare to deal with. The woman who was assigned as claims adjuster to our particular case COULD NOT be reached by phone. I had to go through my Allstate agent to even receive any information from State Farm. I spoke to several different people on the phone over the course of about a month, and each person treated me as if I were a huge inconvenience - sometimes raising their voices to me, interrupting me rudely, and even hanging up on me. At one point, I asked to speak to the woman's supervisor or manager and she told me that would not be possible. I could not believe that their so-called "customer service" was this practice. I simply called to check the status of the claim or inquire about an insurance process and I was ALWAYS treated the same way by each different person I spoke to. It was as if a big red flag appeared on their computer screen when they pulled up my claim number, telling them to be as rude as they possibly could to me. It took State Farm TWO WEEKS to accept liability from an accident that the police department said was an "open and shut, text book case" of rear-ending. I was without my car for exactly FIVE WEEKS and didn't receive any compensation or even an apology for their snail pace at dealing with this issue. I have NEVER dealt with a company that was so difficult to reach, and once I spoke to them, they were unbearably unkind and rude. Being involved in an accident is bad enough, but when you have to be verbally insulted and assaulted, that makes the situation 1,000 times worse. State Farm is the worst company I have ever dealt with and I hope to NEVER have to go through that again.
