The device gets hung quite a bit and when it does its really a Bear to clear it up. Each time I feel like its the end, caput, dead. but I keep working on it over & over and it comes back. its such an efort and after it comes back what do you have but a junk TT anyway. What a waste of time.
I have a TomTom XL 350 and it has a habit of getting stuck at the splash screen after an update. It will not turn off or do anything. Tried reset, reconnect to TT Home, no change.
When it is working its no better than ok. Maybe it would be a good deep sea fishing weight?

I am so disgusted with my purchase of the TomTom XXL 540 M!
The help I received in July 2014 was sufficient to get me started, having never used a GPS device, but
now I regret the purchase. I am having trouble with an error in the map. All maps are up to date after
using Home but it did not help. There is an address in Pinellas Park, FL which according to my TOMTOM is
not a valid address. This is my first attempt to set a route. The address and street have been there for
over 50 years and when a friend took me to the address It surely was there as I was told.
I have tried to contact your customer support and both times I was told they would have to call me back
due to phone problems and it would be no more than 1 minute before I would be called. Nobody called me hours later.
I tried to use your website to attempt to correct the error but not being an IT trained person, I found
it impossible to accomplish anything.
This is one the worst purchases I have ever made. I would dispose of the unit if I could sell it. This
was wasted money. I will never be able to use the product with any confidence. It is too complicated and
support is terrible.

30% Of Tom Tom Is Slow But Acceptable The Remainder Only Fails Worse With Time. Even The New Updates Have Map Errors That Should Have Been Corrected 3 Or More Years Ago. In Fact I Contacted Them About Those Major Map Errors Myself. Yet These And Many Other Areas Built Or Altered In The Past 5 Years Continue To Be Wrong Or Not Present On Even The Newest Tom Tom Maps. Over All Tom Tom Is #1 ,in The Downhill Fall. They Out Rite Refuse To Make An Attempt To Make Something Usefull. Too Hell Be Tom Tom And Its 1990 Map Updates. Herb2 2/13/13 The Mid South

This Is My Second Tom Tom And Last. I Bought The 1000 Live Model It Lasted The Warranty Period. The Screen Will Just Turn Grey After A Couple Of Minutes. Battery Life ?, Does It Have A Battery Because To Me It Seems It Does Not Have One.for Me To Send This Product To Them From The South Africa And Pay For Repairs Will Cost More Than A New One. I Will Never Ever Buy A Tom Tom Again. Got Myself The Biggest And Latest Model Garmin And Very Satisfied, Thank You.

TOM TOM SUCKS AND SO DOES THE PRODUCTS. I HAVE BOUGHT 2 GPS UNITS AND BOTH DON'T WORK OUT OF THE BOX. THEY BOTH PROMISED TO RECEIVE LIFETIME MAP UPDATES AND FREE TRAFFIC. THE CODES DON'T EVEN WORK THAT WERE IN THE BOX. YOUR COMPANY SUCKS.

downloaded the programs pluged in the gps and nothing! JUNK! 2nd. time I got one too.

TOMTOM's non existent customer service
Your customer service for tomtom owners looking for some help on warranty repairs is unacceptable, I've been trying to talk to someone but saddly you have not been able to received my call for quite some time... it makes me wonder if you have the same poor quality level of service if I was going to buy a device or make some sort of payment????

Cheaper than Garmin
Tomtom GPSes are a competitor to the top brand Garmin. They try to offset the competition by offering their items at a low price. However, for this price you also tend to lose some of the features, as well. Garmin is at th top of the industry for a reason.

Crippled Maps
The first TomTom I purchased came with crippled maps with offers to purchase an update for $79.00 or a year for $119.00. Reluctantly, I purchased the single update. This too, was crippled. Roads that were closed years earlier were shown in trip planning along with cow paths and dead-end roads. My guesses were more accurate than the maps. My second TomTom came with free map updates, four per year, which are better than the first unit I had. However, theses maps are not up-to-date either. Bridges that have been out for years are not recognized. Some two-lane roads that were four-laned about ten years past are shown as still two-lane. Customer service.....forget it....no such place.

My Tom Tom told me to merge off the Freeway in the bay area and next thing I know, I'm in the bus only fasttrack lane. There is no way to turn around obviously so I'm waiting for my ticket in the mail. Is there anything i can do

Don't bother with one of these pieces of junk. Paid over $70 for 1 year's updates on my original unit. Download software was so bad that it rendered the unit useless. Purchased a new on, tried to update that and got nothing but an inoperable unit and constant aborts while trying to update. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
