I recently bought a used 2013 VW CC sport, its an great car until I reached 100,000 miles the rear tires were cupping and making loud noises so put new tires on all four only to find out the engine service soon light came on and its said that cylinder 1, 3, 4 are misfiring so easy fix....bought new coil packs and spark plugs....two months goes by and the coil packs are misfiring again, not enough power to the move the car so almost got into an accident at the intersection. luckily I had warranty on the coil packs and traded them out and it happens again so I research this problem to only find out that its a carbon build up that's the problem. they recommend taking the engine apart and replacing the fuel injectors and manually clean the headers and what not....I asked the dealership if there a recall on this crappy design. nothing can be done so I have to pay out of pocket. which is $1500.00 im never buying a VW car again. I THOUGHT GERMAN ENGINEERING WAS THE BEST. I guess not...only good at engineering large group showers. smh

I recently bought a 2010 model of a Volkswagen car (polo 1.6 TDI). I have discovered many faults with the car such as with the engine all together which has cost me over £2000 to repair.
The customers service of VW was not helpful as they did not want to take any responsibility for the faults that i have encountered with the car. I believe that a car of this make and age should not have this many problems so, i would not suggest buying this car in the future.

I have late 2011 jetta TDI and love it. Miles 44000. However: the hood of the driver side mirror fell of.The internal clip holding it failed. The dealer,Valley Motors in Cockeysville Md. glued it back with contact cement. Then the cover on the drivers seat started to de-laminate from its base material and crumbling of. The dealers comment:Normal wear and tear. A call to Volkswagen offices: Wear and tear, not our problem. This is a vehicle driven by a retired person, for personal use only and kept in mint condition. Except of course for material failures. Want to have a car which deteriorates after 44000 miles and can be fixed with contact cement, see VALLEY MOTORS on York Rd.and buy a VOLKSVAGEN.

I have a 2010 jetta 6 trendline TSI and have now noticed that the car backfire on the first startup in the morning. I have been in contact with the head office in Port Elizebeth and they advise that this is normal in this model. I have friends with the same model car and these does not have the same issue. I have been dealing with this problem now for almost 4 months with no resolution. If this is normal for a VW to behave like this it will surely be my last VW that I buy. Is there anyone with the same issue on there Jetta 6 Trendline TSI model?

VW Tourage , At 18,000 miles our front tires need to be replaced. Service dept said it was from alignment . We wanted tires replaced they said it was not there responsibility . So we were told to call head office of VW. They told us it was not part of warranty . How could alignment problem be not part of warranty? If you buy this car expect warranty to be worthless. Unless you expect to replace your tires every 18,000 miles don't buy this car. We got rid of it and bought a ford.

I bought a 2013 Passat SEL and I have had nothing by problems with the software and with my cruise control being stuck, but when I take the car into Volkswagen they say that they can not find a problem. I have only had my car a month. They still have my car with and still cannot find anything wrong. This is the third time it has been in their shop in a month. I'm just so unhappy 27,000 dollars on a LEMON!!!

every time i take my vehicle in for service and work that needs doing, they screw up every time.it cost me extra money to get the work done they missed or did incorrectly.i feel i have made a very big mistake taking my vehicle to vw for a service every year. i do not feel confident in there abilities to do the most basic of work.

Miss my Jetta!

I got a 2002 Jetta as my first car and I loved it! My friends thought it was awesome that I could open and close the windows with the remote ;) It was a fun car to mod and had a great look. It ran very well and I rarely had a problem with it. The main thing I did not like about the car was that if I DID have a problem with it, I had to take it to a foreign car shop or a VW dealer. That was annoying and they are, of course, more expensive than regular car shops. Overall, I had a great experience with my VW but I would probably stick with cars that can be taken to regular shops.

LEMON! LEMON! LEMON!
Purchased the 2011 Routan in May of 2011. The antenna was loose. Was told by the VW dealership in Waipio it would take about a month due to a nation-wide recall. 6 months later the part came in.It's STILL loose In the mean time I had to take it in because it reversed really roughly. The service people never heard that complaint before. They actually test drove all of their Routans and found it's a "DEFECT" of the model and can't be fixed! The sliding doors were very jerky and took the Routan in again. The service department said there was a piece of paper in the way of the mechanism which they removed so it was now fixed! Of course it wasn't. Now after only 1.5 years the brakes are making noise, rough and the console on the driver's door that controls the windows, locks, etc comes out of the console! Very reluctant to go back to the service department!

We purchaged Polo highline on 16 feb 2012.we drived it 12500 km till now. Within 6 months its front shoker mount have been damaged. They are demanding its coast but its warrenty period is two years. Then why they are demanding its coast and labour charge under warrenty Polo highline is very costly her sigmant. its chamber hits the surface. To save chamber we have to drive slowly yet its socker mount become damaged at 12500km.with in six month of purchase and 12500km service centre persons are demanding the cost of socker mount and labour charges. Then what is meaning of two years warranty. we wanted to purchase one another polo but if within six months it creating such problems then what can be after two three years. if some one ask us about this car how can we give those positive views. It is expensive in its segment and though also creatingi did e mail you for mounts.but reply come that warranty is up to 10000 kms. i purchased the car on 16 feb. 2012 and it has droven 12500kms. it means we have to change its mount after every 10000km. who will belive on volkswogen.2500 rs. for mounts and labour charges extra we have to pay after every 10000 km. who will buy the car. then why you give the warranty of two years. idont drive more than the speed of 40 km/h. if i drive the car on Indian road on 60-70 km/h. speed.then mount will have to change after every 5000 km. a phone call came from the company to me and the girl who taked to me said in rubber part problum comes.thats why company gives warranty up to 10000 km. we can not do any thing in it . if company has given the warranty of two years then what is the meaning of labour charges problems.

My son and I together bought a used 2004 Jetta 1.8 liter turbo in august 2011. It currently has 133,000 miles. The car fax showed the car had no major service records. Unfortunately we have had nothing but trouble since January 2012, but June 2012 became the beginning of the end for the engine and potentially the vehicle. We took the car to several different mechanics, but ended up at the riverside California dealership. There, the technicians (they are not real mechanics) kept telling us the codes that needed to be fixed. All along I felt there was a bigger issue they were ignoring. The coolant would slowly diminish and we had to refill it once a week. They replaced the reservoir bottle and told me there was a leak in the radiator. No water was dripping from the radiator.
The oil dip stick would blow out, releasing pressure backed up in the system. They never explained why that was happening. They slowly and methodically fixed one small thing after another, each time costing us a minimum of $1,200. The last straw was on the final visit sometime in the middle of July 2012. They wanted $4,500 to fix a few sensors and the head gasket. I felt there was a crack in the head, block, or the gasket was a problem long before this point. I was very frustrated by the service department and the lack of knowledge by all involved. I picked up the vehicle without having the work done. Two days later the car overheated with smoke everywhere. The head gasket had finally blown. While it was not the best idea for me to have taken the car without having the repairs done, I was interested in taking the vehicle that had real mechanics that could fix the issue. Besides, I felt the head gasket had already been leaking the whole time and didn’t suspect that it would give way so quickly after that final visit to the dealership.
I feel the vehicle had endured horrible service at the riverside dealership and that possibly the vehicle may not have had the overheating and blown gasket it they had properly diagnosed and fixed the problem the first time in. I am currently attempting to change the head gasket myself due to the fact that I do not trust your dealership technicians to do an adequate job. I feel an amateur, such as me, could do the same quality of work.
“We have to see what the codes say” is all I was ever told. Any fool can plug in a code reader and see what the problems are. It takes a real mechanic to diagnose why the issue is happening. All the dealership ever did was tried to make the code go away. They would change a sensor and put in a new exhaust valve or whatever, but there was a real problem that caused those things to go bad. That is why we had to bring the vehicle in every week or so, but all they wanted to do was see what the codes said.
I had asked the service advisor to have his mechanics give the vehicle a thorough inspection to tell me if there were any issues that I needed to address because I didn’t want to keep bringing in the vehicle and get nickel and dimed to death. I told him I would like an estimate, their best judgment, how long I had until I had to have the repairs done. (Here is an example of what I was asking for. The alternator is a little weak based on our test. You may have 6 months or so before you will need to get it replaced.). I told him I would not hold it against him if the part did not last as long as he estimated. I just wanted an idea of the potential issues we had coming up. He told me that they did an inspection (he absolutely did not say a thorough inspection) and they didn’t find much. The front struts needed to be replaced and some door switches were wearing out. That was about it. All along the car is stalling on the freeway, running rough when cold, coolant leaking somewhere, but not visibly outside the engine!
The final visit, the advisor asked me if we had put duct tape on some of the hoses. The last people to have their hands in that engine compartment were his people. If there was duct tape on any hoses it was put there by them. When I got the vehicle from them, after NOT having any repairs done, I looked under the hood and there were no hoses that had duct tape on them!! This really showed me how incompetent they were and also showed me they don’t really look at the engine in a thorough manner. They are code technicians…nothing more!
It is unfortunate this has come to this point. I absolutely am unimpressed with Volkswagen and will never again buy one of your products. If I get this car running again it will be sold as quickly as possible. For the last two months I have been telling everybody I can not to buy your vehicles, especially the ones put together in Mexico. One simple search on the internet would have saved me months of torture. It is right there, one review after another. Volkswagens manufactured in Mexico are poor quality and have the highest need for repairs.

DO NOT PURCHASE A VW! You will regret it! By 30k miles my entire air conditioning had to be replaced. By 40k miles my engine had to be replaced. Which, really shocked me since we had our oil changed at the dealership and NEVER hit 6mos, or 3k prior to doing so. Our engine had NO oil in it, and there was NO leak. The dealership screwed up, and would not take accountability. VW would not take accountability. We were told we should have been checking our oil every other time we filled up our gas tank, and should have been taking our vehicle into the dealership every 1,000 miles to get the oil topped off. Who does that! And, who wants a car like that. Not to mention we had to take the car in every few months anyways due to the ridiculous amount of recalls we got on this car! Oh, btw, warranty didn't cover the engine. Since we only drove it less than 8k miles a year, we surpassed the 5 year warranty time frame. So despite the fact that we were 20,000 miles under the mileage warranty VW wouldn't do a thing. They have no pride in their vehicles, and have no respect for their customers. I just spent $60,000 to purchase my new vehicle...not from VW.

Volkswagen Eos: first rate

After 5 years, my 2007 Volkswagen Eos 2.0 continues to impress.

The Eos is not a luxury car, at least in price. In common however with few if any cars not in that class, it features a retractable hardtop. This is not a mere novelty. Compared to a ragtop, I've experienced much better top-up visibility and greater insulation against the weather. Operation of the top has been smooth, quick, and trouble-free.

The Eos's flawless fit-and-finish is also rarely seen outside the luxury category. Driving and responsiveness have been first-rate.

What has really stoked my enthusiasm has been the large number of unexpected conveniences, many of which won't be found in more costly convertibles, including:

*Automatic headlights. Never worry about turning your lights off or on.
*Automatic dual temperatures. The car remembers your temperature settings for both top-up and top-down operation.
*Separate temps for driver and passenger.
*Dual transmission. Effortlessly switch between automatic shifting and (simplified) manual shifting.
*"Keyless" key. As with many cars, you can open a door by pressing a button on your remote. What's special with this VW is that the business end of the key (the bit) is hidden inside the remote. It snaps out when needed, like a switchblade.
*Super-informative fuel display. You see at all times how many more miles you can drive before refilling.
*Super-clear radio display. Giant boldfaced characters display the frequency of the station whose broadcast you're hearing. Smaller characters display the frequency of each pre-set.

Driving through France to Spain from UK in VW Passat 1.9TDI estate.A coolant hose started leaking. Using Green Flag Europe who failed to find the fault recovered it to local garage saying major engine fault. It took two days to get there. Dealer says major engine fault but when I pointed out exactly where the fault was then agreed that pipe had hole in it caused by electric cable chaffing it. 3 days later and still no car. Just how long does it take to change a coolant hose. Apparently no local spares available. Also have serious electronic faults with car. Never again will I buy VW.

We are the proud owners of a Volkswagen polo match, looks nice, best ornament we have ever bought. Yes sarcasm, its junk, we received it eight days ago brand new and two days later it was broken down. We got it back last night and yes it broke down again this morning. The company that sold us the car is fantastic and no complaints against the service received, western motors Edinburgh. It is a shame that the product is so pathetic. Two days from new and looks like it will spend the rest of its life in the garage, don’t go near Volkswagen they are rubbish.

Volkswagen is the worst. I bought a 2003 Beetle in June 2010. Shortly after buying it I began to have transmission issues. From July to October it spent more time in the shop then my drive way. In December 2010, I received a letter from Volkswagen concerned about my recent repairs involving the valve body and wanted my invoices for my out of pocket expenses because they were aware of an issue but it was not a recall. I sent the bills be to them and heard nothing. I finally call and they said the warranty extension had expired on my care in January of 2010. I was angry that my car had these very common issue in that make and model and yet they won't reimburse me. No one could explain why they would send the letter to me nearly 12 months after it expired. Come on Volkswagen admit you have a real problem and issue a recall. Then reimburse those of us you have turned you back on. My car had 75k miles on it. Nothing like this should happen. I Will never buy another VW not because I think their all junk but because VW refuses to recognize a real problem with their vehicles.

My Bug is a 2004 GLS 1.8 6S Turbo and from the first moment that I bought, brand new, it started giving me problems. It has been in the shop for a number of recalls from window's to other odd things. At 66,000 the transmission started to give me a hard time and when I took it to the deliver they told me the warranty expired at 60,000. I am not a mechanic, but I have been a loyal VW customer for 25 years and I have never had any transmission problems with my other vehicles. I contacted VW Customer Care and all they would tell me is that my warranty expired. I couldn't understand why VW wouldn't fix it. My dealer couldn't understand either so they offered to pay half the price. A year later VW sends me a letter stating that they are extending the warranty on Valve Body Warranty on the transmission. They sent a reimbursement form to complete and send back up of your spending. A month later I receive a letter that the extended warranty was on the Valve Body not the entire transmission that I was told by the dealership that I had to change the entire thing. I tried to contact VW Care, but of course their business hours are until 6p ET. When I finally got a hold of someone in VW Care I asked to talk to a supervisor right away, but was put on hold for 30 minutes and the supervisor never even got on the phone. The agent came back on the phone and read me the decline letter. I demanded to talk with a supervisor and he never was able to get someone on the phone. This is the most horrible experience I have ever had with any company, but it is most disturbing because I was such a loyal customer to VW. All of my vehicles and my parents vehicles have always been VW's and now I will tell everyone that I see never to purchase a VW again. At least Toyota owned up to their mistakes and went out of their way to make it right.

.... March 24th, 2011

I brought my 2010 VW GTI for service at VW OF ROCKVILLE CENTER, LONG ISLAND NY, because I was constantly low on radiator coolant. The technician just told me it was low and I needed a refil. It continued to be low and I took the car back. The next day they told me something from the road came up under the drip pan and punctured the radiator. I had the car for a month with the coolant problem and I never had any stains on my brand new concrete driveway which is a light color and shows all stains. When I went to view the car at the dealership the car was physically leaking coolant, and a puddle was under the car. I now have now choice but to pay the 1300 repair to make the car drivable becasue it is not a warranty issue. You decide if this situation is actually possible in the natural world of physics.
