BenQ W1060 projector - Fantastic

I wanted to upgrade from a 720P projector to a full HD 1080p projector, but I wasn't interested in paying thousands of dollars or buying 2 year old technology. Earlier BenQ 1080p models had mediocre reviews so I wasn't sure if this was just a repackaging of some of the old parts. I called BenQ and they assured me that this had major advancements over the previous models and I would be very happy with it. It has absolutely stunning HD picture quality. The contrast of 5000:1 gives extremely sharp detail. The blacks are deep black, not grey. It has 2 brightness modes, so you can more than double the bulb life to 6,000 hours in the economy setting. That's like watching it for 3 hours each and every night for the next 5 1/2 years. Even the economy setting was plenty bright for my room. I marked in pencil a pixel from my 720p projector. The BenQ W1060 projects 4 pixels in the same area. That's double the resolution. Thus Blu-Ray movies are so clear and life like, it's like being there. The colors were perfect right out of the box, so set up took two minutes. It is so quiet, you can't hear a sound from this projector. It has 2 HDMI inputs as well as one of every other input including S-Video which I need for a mutiregion DVD player I have. When I hooked my PC to it, it was like a giant monitor. Crystal clear. The remote has a very simple layout, and has a backlight so you can use it in a dark room. Of course, BenQ is know for quality products, so that was a comfort as well. So if you are thinking about getting a HD projector, you can spend thousands on one or you can get this BenQ W1060 one for a fraction of the cost of the others. A blind man would love to see the difference between the two. Some people are concerned about an annoying rainbow effect that occurs sometimes with certain DLP projectors. I haven't seen any rainbow effects from this BenQ projector.I've seen other brands in the same price range, but when you check them out, they were first released in 2009. That's 2 year old technology. Why would anyone purchase a produce that is nearing the end of its life cycle? This BenQ W1060 is BRAND NEW as of Sept 2011 taking advantage of the very latest technology and components. I love it. In my ratings for this projector, I rated both Durability and Customer Service as 5. I base that on BenQ's reputation and my experience with them on one of my earlier BenQ projectors. For this projector, ask me about Durability in a year, and about their Customer Serivce if I ever had the need to call them.
