We have a Kodak ESP C310 in our small office. It only prints a couple of pages with black ink, and then will not print in black again until the cartridge is changed, even though it is still full!!!!
This is costing a fortune and our treasurer is not happy as we are a charity and was recommended this printer in the shop.

I bought my Kodak printer ESP c310 because they advertised that they would save me a lot more ink than the other printers. This is misleading as it is costing me more in ink because of the way they have programmed the cartridges. They have them set up so that the color ink runs out at the same time as the black, even if you do not use any color ink at all. And the printer will not let you print in only black/draft if the color cartridge is reading empty. Even though it is really not empty, but just being recorded as empty since it seems to be linked to the copies made from the black ink. I decided to do all my print jobs in draft copy with my last ink change. Sure enough, as the black goes down, the color goes down in the same amount, even though I have not used any color ink. So, now I am faced with purchasing another color cartridge to be allowed to print in black.
How is this saving me money when I am forced to purchase the more expensive color ink every time the black cartridge is empty? Is there any way to file a complaint that will work for us as consumers? Can we get our money back so we can go and purchase another printer? Kodak is misleading us about these printers and then abandons us when we complain about what is going on. I know they could do something to fix this if they wanted to. Are any other printer owners filing a class action complaint against Kodak? I just want my money back, plus money for all the cartridges that I was forced to buy, but really did not need.
