LG Blu-ray player
This is a good Blu-ray player for playing your blu-ray disc that can hold high capacity data storage. The quality is superb.Anonymous-26248.... April 5th, 2011
LG. This is pretty simple. I bought their 2010 FLAGSHIP BLU-RAY/MEDIA PLAYER, The BD-590. What. A. Mistake. It cannot pass 24Hz Blu Ray signal to my 55" 1080P LED/LCD TV....one of the SIGNATURE features of blu-ray discs (the ability to exactly reproduce film materials at home as long as your player and TV support it).
Most recent update (334.C) caused my player's wifi to stop working. Completely. I tried calling their CS, but waited on the phone for WAY too long and hung up. Emailed them and got some pretty curt responses for a flagship-model customer. I'm glad I didn't buy their TV (was deciding between their 55" LCD and the one I have). They acted like there was no issue with the firmware update and basically treated me like I was an isolated incident. Enter the 158 page LG owner's thread that is dominated byt he discussion their BD players that DON'T WORK, to include my BD590.

For the closing fail, LG stated to me that they were 'working on a fix' and they had no definite date for a solution. And then I make the mistake of looking at LG's website...they've already retired my model and have a brand new model line out. Gone and forgotten. Beware of LG. I will not be buying a player from them again. I'll be buying an OPPO blu ray player...better picture, better sound, and can support an external USB HDD. Oh......and proven customer service. Just gotta save up the money.
