GPS Good for Local use ONLY!

Okay, this GPS is good to use locally in a area that you are quite familiar with but just need a little guidance of where to go... however, using this GPS on a long distance road trip I would not advice. I had a very bad experience with this GPS, I had bought it to replace my garmin GPS because it was more costly and I needed it because I had to go on a long distance trip and I didn't have the money to afford a garmin. Anyway, to make a long story short, What was supposed to be a 6 hour drive to virginia took nearly 12 hours because this TomTom GPS did not work as effectively as it should have many of the data was old data and it was just a mess. It works well locally though.... only because I am familiar with majority of the places I punch in.
